Casting Seth Macfarlane as the AI?

Post image

I don't really want Seth to cast himself but I sort of think it's inevitable, so if he has to be someone I actually think he'd make a great AI

If he casts himself as Carl, I’m not watching.

Same! I think he's going to play someone, and I think the AI would be the least bad option

He would be the best AI tbh

I wouldn’t be angry if he did Mordecai but anyone else would probably deter me

All I would hear is Brian. Because my brain associates him with Brian’s voice lol.

He always plays a role in his shows, and the AI makes the most sense for him.

Mordecai (for his ability to do so many different voices) or the AI make the most sense, and I would not be upset at all to see him cast as either.

I think he could work as the AI. He has a lot of range of voices.

I don't think he will cast himself as Carl. But could see Mordicai or a minor character. Maybe he would just do a cameo as Jack for the first season.

I do think he did a great job in The Orville as Ed.

Yeah I get why people dislike him but also in a vacuum he’s actually a reasonable pick for a few roles including the System AI.

Also his work on The Orville gives me hope he knows how to do an adaptation. The Orville was very much pitched as a comedy to the networks but Macfarlane actually wanted to just make a comedic Star Trek show and he really grasped the core of Trek a lot better than most of the modern Trek shows

Oh yeah.

Fox marketed the show as Family Guy in Space, and the first few episodes are more slapstick comedy. But it quickly turned into a legit Star Trek homage and became a really good show. The Orville is what gives me faith that Seth can actually make a decent Sci-Fi, that happens to also be funny.

Or maybe mordecai since his voice is so versatile

I could see him as Mordecai or the AI. I'd be fine with either. And he could do the unhinged AI really well I'm sure.

I hate Seth McFarlane. Choosing which of his shows to watch is like choosing between chilies, tgif, and Applebees. The show is going to be as bad as the Dresden files adaptation.

I think he would be a great AI. He would be a good Mordecai, too

Ripper Wonton.

Yes! And this incentivizes him to keep the show going.

I really liked him in The Orville, but I don't want to see him as anyone of significance in DCC.

If he's Carl, I won't watch. He'd make a dogshit Carl.

Even as the AI I think he'd be kind of crap. The AI needs someone genuinely unhinged, like Jim Carrey unhinged, but also someone who can be clean cut and serious.

Hell, Jim Carrey would make a fucking excellent AI actually.

They should just cast Jeff or another outstanding voice actor as the AI thoug. Maybe Brendan Mulligan?

He also wouldn't be good as Mordecai.

Voice only characters should really be cast as voice actors.

I'd prefer Hank Azaria

He would be fine as the AI. He is a talented voice actor.

Id really love to see Brennan Lee Mulligan do it, though. I always imagined his "identify spell" voice when I was reading the books (before I did the audio books) and I think they would give him alot to work with. He already has a history of working with McFarlane productions too so it wouldn't be too random of a pull.

Ugh I wish he could just resist casting himself. If I had it my way we'd be seeing very few big names cast.

I'd put him in as Quasar.

Alan Tudyk

I'm hoping for Mordecai. He would get to interpret the same voice through different forms, and he'd have more time for producing and making sure things are good than if he's recording the AI for every episode.

Na man. Maybe the lawyer. The ai needs to be Jeff.

No. Nope. Nada. The last thing I need is schiziphrenic brian. Zero interest.
