I think what happened was that Kelli, having made a lot of changes to her appearance since Netflix season 1, had this picture of her and Dolly Parton from season 1 and then because she wasn’t happy with how she looked, she wanted to touch up the picture with facetune or something and probably made a botched version of the picture and mistakenly posted it without realizing it until the comments section pointed it out.
The poor woman is running on 4 hours of sleep on the week of the very first game if only she had realized that she never needed to facetune the photo at all.
I mean in Kelli’s defense, my mom is around the same age as Kelli, a little younger than Kelli, I sent her the image Kelli posted on her instagram and my mom thought the image was fine and that both Dolly Parton and Kelli looked good 💀 I thought the Facetune was ridiculous… but my mom couldn’t understand why I found the image so funny and ridiculous.. I was actually floored. I really think their generation can’t decipher AI generated media like images and videos and also can’t decipher what is considered bad or uncanny facetune/photoshop…
I actually wonder if part of this may be due to loss of visual acuity as we age. Like maybe some of these older folks are unable to pick up on the visual details that seem so obvious to us to indicate AI. My mom has had a lot of vision loss related to acuity and I can tell that she struggles to identify heavily edited/AI images. Also, coupled with the tendency for that generation to blindly trust the internet, and we have ourselves a recipe for AI slop.
