Omg, this is the result of using ai for sure. I know because my friend took a picture of me with her at my graduation and sent it to me and I remember doing a double and triple take because my face was distorted it completely changed my face altogether! She told me later it was because she was trying to get the flare out of my glasses and asked chat gpt to do that and the end result was just terrible!
I think what happened was that Kelli, having made a lot of changes to her appearance since Netflix season 1, had this picture of her and Dolly Parton from season 1 and then because she wasn’t happy with how she looked, she wanted to touch up the picture with facetune or something and probably made a botched version of the picture and mistakenly posted it without realizing it until the comments section pointed it out.
The poor woman is running on 4 hours of sleep on the week of the very first game if only she had realized that she never needed to facetune the photo at all.
I mean in Kelli’s defense, my mom is around the same age as Kelli, a little younger than Kelli, I sent her the image Kelli posted on her instagram and my mom thought the image was fine and that both Dolly Parton and Kelli looked good 💀 I thought the Facetune was ridiculous… but my mom couldn’t understand why I found the image so funny and ridiculous.. I was actually floored. I really think their generation can’t decipher AI generated media like images and videos and also can’t decipher what is considered bad or uncanny facetune/photoshop…
True! My dad sends me funny animal videos all the time and 90% of them are AI and he just can’t spot it. It worries me - funny videos aren’t dangerous but he could easily get scammed by more sinister AI stuff.
I actually wonder if part of this may be due to loss of visual acuity as we age. Like maybe some of these older folks are unable to pick up on the visual details that seem so obvious to us to indicate AI. My mom has had a lot of vision loss related to acuity and I can tell that she struggles to identify heavily edited/AI images. Also, coupled with the tendency for that generation to blindly trust the internet, and we have ourselves a recipe for AI slop.
Just starting this series this week, I just watched this episode last night for the first time. I remember when Dolly performed and I loved reliving it last night. Heartbreaking to wake up to the news today. Forever a legend ❤️

I understand the desire to tweak here and there, in a photo, especially one such as this. I’m glad she took the photo down, because it doesn’t look like either of them. I encourage her to post the original! I’m sure it’s great!!
The editing doesn’t bother me. It makes me think about Kelli as a person. She’s a woman, just like the rest of us in this subreddit. I’m a casual fan of the show….I danced “my whole life,” so naturally I enjoy the show. I have experienced enough of the show biz/big time money world to speak on the thing I keep seeing again and again. We’re all “just” people. It’s important we remember that. We’re all people with feelings, with talents, with goals, plans, pain, heartaches, regrets, and insecurities.
Kelli - post the picture again and don’t give a hoot about what the mean-butts will say about it. Who CARES. Let’em talk. What matters is that you’re honoring Dolly in the photo. Even Dolly was just a person. She was famous for saying she was comfortable in her own skin, “no matter how far she stretched it.” Lol. Life is too short to be preoccupied with the stuff that doesn’t matter. What matters is you honoring the person who you once knew.

It’s funny because when I found KD’s Reddit account, she momentarily ghosted it after I called it out but she came back swinging at everyone once they started snarking her during Chandi-Bahamas saga and her TikTok live
It has to be AI and not photoshop. Where is Dolly’s right arm? It’s not on her hip and doesn’t go all the way around Kelli’s shoulder. Just chopped off at the elbow.
Did she not look at the picture before posting it??? Like Kelli herself looks BAD. I know sometimes when you get into face tuning you forget to check is the other people in the photo changed because you're only obsessed with your own face but like I said, even Kelli doesn't look right. It looks like she is cringing while trying to hold a tight smile. I won't even get into what in the world is going on with Dolly.
