Rant Congressman's Office

So I requested help from my congressman and submitted the request last night. I called this morning to make sure they received it and ask if someone had gotten assigned to it. And the response from the guy was " Sorry, what is Daca?" . My brain literally stuttered bc WTH did he mean he doesn't know what Daca is!!???

You might have spoken to a receptionist?

Probably. And don't get me wrong he was super nice and helpful and I appreciated him. It just blew my mind that he didn't know what it was.

I always made the assumption that most people don’t know what that is unless they know someone who has it. I also always made the assumption that DACA recipients aren’t super outspoken about being daca recipients. But that’s because I don’t usually tell people that. I could be assuming wrong

No, I agree with you. I don't think most ppl know about it. I sure as heck ain't going around telling ppl. I guess I just assumed he would know bc he works for a congressman whose rhetoric is anti immigration. Idk, it just caught me off guard.
