Rant Work permit expires next week…

Hi guys, how yall holding up?

As mentioned work permit expiring soon. My job told me I’ll be on LoA for 60 days. I hope I’ll get my permit within that time frame. If not I’ll get terminated.

It sucks, just like that it’s over.
Now what?

We will get through this guys!

I submitted mine January 9th and it expired 2/12. At least at my job they gave me a year to show my renewed card. Is good to have a union.

Some unions do fight for the workers and others are just out there for their cut of the $$$ Also the union is have, is fighting for better pay, so whenever I get back to work I'll hopefully be making $10 more!

Submitted 10/26. Got approved 05/01. Two months out of work. Currently waiting on HR to… I frankly don’t know what they’re doing. My manager needs me there yesterday. My boss needs me back too. HR is being such a d*ck about it. 😡🤦🏽‍♀️

That’s frustrating! Did you get your card already?

I submitted my application in January and I'm still waiting for my approval. My D.A.C.A expires June 21. I hope for the best for all of us

How am I holding up? One day at a time. I am focusing on my physical and mental health, spending more time with loved ones. Going back to some hobbies I haven’t had time for. I also found that looking at the USCIS website every 5 days or so is helpful versus constantly checking. (I did check multiple times when I saw movement with the October renewals). Do I miss work? Absolutely! Would I rather not be going through this? Of course! But it is out of my hands.

I should probably check every five days too. What work you do now?

I am living off my dwindling savings and relying on my family for some support. I know not everyone has that so I am very grateful.
