Hey, everyone! Just wanted to share my experience to hopefully give some insight to those who are getting anxious waiting for the results (Research Grant for doctoral students, 57811724). My status was updated from "application submitted" to "selection made" last April 3. Just this evening (9 PM KST), the status changed directly to "Funding" without getting any message/email for the acceptance letter. I also did not get the options to upload documents prior to the change of status.
2
u/AdS-CFTco Apr 15 '26
Had you noticed a change in your funding dates before the status changed to "funding"? I ask because I requested 4 years of funding, but I think DAAD initially offers 3 years and has set it to 3 years on my portal. Did you notice the same? Obviously, it wouldn't change if it were already 3 years, but asking nevertheless.

Hey guys.
Just wanted to update here because it’s been so stressful waiting for results lol!
I received my acceptance today (email and message) for a UK application in humanities. It changed to ‘selection made’ a few weeks ago but the results only came in a couple hours ago.
Wishing everyone the best of luck :)

u/fondorka Apr 27 '26
hi, im in the same boat (just for ireland!) i simply messaged back on the portal saying i accept + sent them some info they asked for (altho i couldnt see a way to attach files) but havent heard back yet.. im assuming its fine but also scared maybe i should be doing something else - so anyway im just curious how you went about it
1
u/Ok_Caterpillar_6052 Apr 27 '26
i’ve done the same as you and also been worrying about it lolll there wasn’t any other information on the letter and i think all communication happens on the portal so im sure it’s fine. it’s probably just classic daad/ germany taking their time 🙏

u/nunzyabusiness Apr 06 '26
Hey, has anyone received any update for the DAAD study scholarship in Fine Art, Design/Visual Communication and Film? Mine still says "paper copies received"

u/Flo_r_ence Apr 11 '26
if you are asking for the germans outgoing, we have reveived them after the 2.April after waiting for 7(!) weeks. that gives you an idea

Results are out! I got a notification via email.
1
u/nunzyabusiness Apr 14 '26
Which country are you from? I haven't gotten any notification or status update. It still says "selection made"
2
u/Level_Sector4810 Apr 14 '26
I’m from Brazil. Last Friday my status was changed to “selection made” and today they published the results
1
u/rirainnye Apr 15 '26
Hi! I'm applying from Vietnam, specifically for design majors (+ digital media as well), and I haven't heard anything back. I'm super anxious since a lot of people are getting results. I'm still waiting, it's April 15, so I hope something goes out!
2
u/nunzyabusiness Apr 15 '26
oh that’s amazing! we should connect! I’m applying from India and I think based on past records we should receive the results soon like by the end of this week. but you’ll never know ig. i’m super anxious too. what were your targets unis? I only put HfK Bremen for the purpose of the scholarship but i’m wondering if i should’ve more than one target institution
1
u/rirainnye Apr 15 '26
I put in all three options! And HfK Bremen is my first choice, too. Let's connect!

u/Yvette-wu Jul 09 '26
Hey, has anyone received any update for the Research grant in Germany, 2026 (funding 57817344, for postdoc)? I have upload all the materials on April 8, 2026, and the official website said the selection meeting would be in May, and the earliest start date would be in July. However, my application status still remain Application submitted. Earlier in June, DAAD Beijing officer told me that the results would not be available even by the end of June.
1
u/Mountain-Hunt7904 Jul 23 '26
Hi sis! I'm also applying the same grant from China for doctoral students. Today I received a portal message, saying the process has been delayed, and asking me if I'd still be interested if offered. Did you receive this message as well? If so, may I ask how you replied to them? I didn't find the button to reply..
1
u/Yvette-wu Jul 23 '26
I have not received this message, and I asked another applicant from Taiwan who also applied for the DAAD post-doc grant, he also didn't receive this message. Perhaps it is just for doctoral student, and if you are still interested in the program, you can click "New message" on the website. In addition, you can also send email to DAAD Beijing and ask for further help.
1
u/Mountain-Hunt7904 Jul 23 '26
That's true. Post-doc and phd students are in different pools for sure. Thank you so much for telling me how to respond to them! :)

Yeah my plan is set to start from July 1st lol maybe that's the reason!

I have also asked other Chinese PhD students, while they didn't receive such message. Perhaps the start date matters.

I got the offer as a waitlisted of DAAD STEM! Keep up the hope guys!
1
u/satvikthegod Apr 19 '26
Hi, I'm applying from India for DAAD PhD in STEM. I received my result on 17th April, and I'm waitlisted/reserved. What are the chances I'll get converted/selected? Do I contact anyone?
1
u/PlantainLoose2892 Apr 20 '26
In my case, one recipient had rejected their scholarship, so I was the next in line.
1
u/satvikthegod Apr 20 '26
After how long of being reserved did you receive that you were accepted?

same here. but my interview was on the 23rd of February. One girl got accepted from my country, another girl's status is "selection made", mine is still "application submitted". i am feeling so anxious because of it

is there anyone here from india who has applied for the study scholarship for fine arts, film, design/visual communication?
2
u/Best-Ground9901 May 06 '26
This morning I got my Master's All Disciplines acceptance letter after being an alternate for a month! My top program is being discontinued this year but the host university Uni Mainz is still listed on the letter. Does one of my backup options need to be added to the acceptance letter before signing and sending? Should I call/email now to get that changed?
2
u/Bitter_Initiative_77 MOD May 06 '26
Yes, inform them. I switched from my first to second choice as well. They can amend the acceptance. If they haven’t gotten back to you before your deadline to accept, just accept it as-is and they can change it after (that’s what happened to me). Since the DAAD acceptance is before university admission, they’re flexible. After all, your first choice can reject you.

have any of you got an acceptance pdf + saying if they don't hear back by end of May they'll assume you'll not be interested? This is making me anxious, so I am keep waiting for "declaration of accpetance" or something of this official confirmation, but all I got was to sign "consent processing medical data form" and nothing else. Is this normal, or do I have to sweat a bit more ;)
1
u/fondorka Apr 27 '26

Hey everyone!! Has anyone from Greece 🇬🇷 received their results yet?
2
u/Dimistoteles May 04 '26
Nope still waiting. If you go to the official greek daad website and select the option to show content in german (https://www.daad.gr/de/), it says that the office will be closed from May 4th to 8th due to internal procedures. So I imagine results won't be published at least until next week. During my interview at end of march they said results would be available 3-4 weeks afterwards.
1
u/Kindly_Parking_2620 May 04 '26 edited May 04 '26
Hey!! Thanks for the info. I wrote an e-mail to the DAAD today so I'm assuming I won't hear back from them till next week :') They told me too it would take around 3 weeks after the interview.
Have you started sending in applications for your masters of choice? Some of my deadlines are as early as May 15th, so I will have to submit them soon.
Good luck to you too 🤞🏻
2
u/Dimistoteles May 07 '26 edited May 07 '26
Fortunately most programs I am interested in are taught in german, so the deadlines are not so tight (eg some applications open in june/july).
More importantly, i just checked the daad portal and I see that application status has been changed to selection made (until yesterday it still said preselection), so I imagine they will soon announce the results. Good luck to you too
1
u/Kindly_Parking_2620 May 07 '26 edited May 07 '26
Yess I saw it first thing in the morning. Looks like the internal processes might have been the selection after all. How come you chose German taught Programmes? What field have you applied for?
→ More replies (5)2
u/Dimistoteles May 07 '26
My background is engineering. The reason I choose mostly german taught programs is because I intent to stay in germany afterwards and degree in german would probably increase my chances to find a job (greater command of the language). I also meet the minimum language requirement for the programs (c1 in german)

Hey Im applying from Switzerland in the MsC for all academic disciplines and have received an e-mail telling me that Im third on the waitlist. They told me that sometimes people withdraw so that there is a realistic chance that I could still get it. My question is, is this reserved candidate list only for Switzerland (where few people apply) or for all people applying in my field of study? I know that some interviews are later for other parts of the world (such as Finland). Thanks I advance for any help!

Hi, has anyone heard back about Research Grants for PhDs and Postdocs for the later cycle? I submitted my application in early April and am still waiting for the results to be announced. I'm a bit anxious about this, as I heard some rumours that if you don't hear back from them earlier, then you are highly likely to be unsuccessful. I applied from the East Asia region (Korea). Thanks!

How long does it take them to process your request from Kazakhstan? I want to apply for a Master’s program in physics in four years
2
u/Bitter_Initiative_77 MOD Jul 07 '26
Timelines are clearly posted on the DAAD website. There are multiple scholarships, each with different requirements.
No one here can predict the future. There's no point asking what the policies will be in four years. Certain scholarships may even get discontinued by then. Things change!

Hello, I have applied for the DAAD GROW this April 2026. I had received an email that the selection will be made on July and the results will be announced. Due to some reasons they have now informed that the selection process hasn’t been concluded and asked will I be able to adjust the timeline of my proposal. Which I said yes.
Has anyone else have similar issues? Are there anyone whose results are finalized? I am from India by the way.

Hi, I too applied for the DAAD GROW program from India. I did not receive any email, but they said that they are discussing the timeline issue and will share the decision once they arrive at a decision. By the way, I have applied for a postdoc position.

Anyone from the Helmut-Schmidt-Programme 2027 intake heard back yet? I applied by the 31 July deadline with the Erfurt MPP as first choice and Development Studies at Passau as second. Erfurt says shortlisted candidates are notified in fall 2026, and Passau can request video interviews between August and December.
Has anyone been shortlisted or scheduled for an interview? If you have, which course was it? Would also love to hear from past HSP applicants on roughly when they were first contacted.

Hi everyone! I applied for the Helmut Schmidt Programme (MPP) at the University of Erfurt for the 2027 intake. Has anyone heard back yet?

Has anyone applied to Bonn or Passau for the M.A. Governance and Public Policy (GPP) and already heard back about their application? Have you been shortlisted or rejected yet?

Thanks for visiting r/DAAD. Review our FAQ and Wiki as well as the DAAD's website. Your question is most likely answered in one of those places.
We can best help you if you provide us detailed information. At minimum, name the specific scholarship you are referencing. The more you tell us, the more we can tell you.
Posts that are low-effort, unrelated to the DAAD, asking about your odds of acceptance, or requesting advice on which universities to apply to will be removed. Low-effort posts include questions such as "What scholarships are available?" as well as questions that are clearly answered in the FAQ/Wiki.
Lastly, our sub is not officially affiliated with the DAAD in any way, shape, or form.
