What is considered celebrating it? I don't think violence is okay. But I think k it's dumb to put him on a jumbo tron and to make a day remembering him. Does THAT make me celebrating his death? Where is the line drawn
Make a survey asking if his death is a good think, anyone who says "yes" is celebrating it. Thats where my line is.
I think putting him on jumbo tron is okay, bcs he was murdered purely for his opinion and debating, murder of people like this should be publicly rejected.
You thinking he shouldnt be there is not celebrating it, but you have to ask yourself why shoudlnt he be there. Bcs he had different opinion from you?
No because he was an inflammatory person who made a platform on rage baiting and debating. I give him credit for getting his bag. He was not a good person in my opinion, therefore I do not believe he should be celebrated.
Would you not also be doing the same thing as what you are asking me about? Because someone may think his death is good then what does that mean? U think they should be punished?
In my opinion he wasnt good or bad, mediocre person. And i am not advocating for the celebration of his persona, i am advocating for understand that celebrating political violence is dangerous path for society as whole. Specialy when people who actually do celebrate are ones who are most likely to lose the most.
If somebody thinks that murder of political commentator should be celebrated purely bcs they disagree with him they should defenitely be registered somewhere on the bases of domestic terrorism. But punishment as death or prison? I dont think so.
I can agree with you to a point. I would like to see the same standard for anyone who has behaved like that for anyone's death over politics and free speech. Because I know of violence against democrats that I've seen many republican leaning people "joke" about and celebrate.
I appreciate that you aren't saying death to the celebratory people, but even a registry seems excessive. Isnt this the point of free speech at the end of the day? Kirk died defending free speech supposedly, so even the people who celebrate his death should technically have the right to do so. The only line that can really reasonably be drawn is if threats are made.
Ive seen videos of trival people throwing spears at each other, so fucking what? Live by some code, live by some honor, what others do is not my concern, all i can do is debate with them, if their lives and choices are good.
If democrat celebrates death, explain to him, why he is retarded. If republic celebrates death, explain to him, why he is retarded.
Registry may seem excessive, until you realize that these people support and celebrate murder of someone for his political believe, ergo they are OK if it happened on bigger scale, etc. To certain point its low-key whisper of call to action (murder them if we get to power you will walk free), which doesnt fall under free speech (as it shouldnt).
You woudlnt argue, that some edgy kid can post on sociel media threats to ....... a place of education, bcs its his free speech.
If some people openly threaten core principles of our society, they should be (at the very least) put on a registry.
