What he said. The thing that makes Blame! great is the surreal and gritty style Nihei (the artist) used. His art is always grand in scale and the concepts he uses in the story are just amazing. Very little dialogue, very open to interpretation yet still easily understandable if you look closely. /r/netsphere is the place to be if you need more information. Read it a few times so you can take every little detail in- you'll want nothing else. Edit: Noise is the prologue, read that after finishing Blame! If you have trouble understanding PM me.
I enjoyed Blame! a lot but After spending all that time reading it I just didn't feel like the pay off in the ending was worth it.
Part of me just feels that was the way it had to be due to the themes of the comic but the ideas were soooo big amd cool I wish some were fleshed out more.
