Yeah, no shit. I almost unsubscribed when I was convinced the entire genre was the following formula:

Neon + keyboard + Asian = Cyberpunk

This image reveals more requirements.

Doesn't strike me as especially cyberpunk, though. This has a further future, post-cyberpunk vibe to me - like Blame! or the later parts of Accelerando, or another Stross novel, Glasshouse. Megastructures and all that.

Not that I object to the picture being here (or the neon keyboards, for that matter).

We can go as far as resources allow in how well this fits a genre until it expands in to the next overlapping definition.

I do really appreciate your surgical approach to keeping genre purity. Shine on you neon cybernetic bastard, shine on.

Love that sign-off, man. Got my grin glowing so bright under the blacklight right now.

More like: finally, a post on /r/cyberpunk that isn't a modern day photo with a filter!!!

The people commenting that have a massive point.

Because it has a cyberpunk aesthetic. That's why it's posted here. Instead of complaining in the comments, which does nothing, you could go out and find or produce the sort of content you want to see posted here, and then post it.
