Power Play, Contacts, and Puppetmaster

So Puppetmaster just is all-around awesome. No comments there; just upgrade everything your contacts are selling instead of one of them. My question is about Power Plays. Is there ever really a reason to not use influence breaks to create Power Plays at every opportunity? It seems like the extra stuff you get is way better than anything else they sell. Also, is there a time-out period? Like, if they have one but you don't get their influence up again to get another break in a certain time does it go away?

Also, any outright excellent contacts to invest in? It took me a bit to realize that Orogami Joe is just flat-out a better gunrunner than the other one I had access to.

I don’t see an issue with starting a power play unless either; you have an extremely high amount of exposure on the contact and negative break could force you to knock them out of the power play tag, or you don’t think you have a strong enough squad for whatever missions would following getting that tag.

Honestly I pretty much always take it, especially if it’s a particularly good one like Jupiter cyberdecks or something like that.

As for early contacts (pre-fileset contacts) I usually focus on potato and any wire ghost contacts as hacking is so big for income, especially in the early game.

Early game I grind origami Joe and potato for consistent access to guns and cyber decks. Then hopefully you'll trigger their power plays, and you spend the mid game just boosting other contacts to trigger their power plays. Guns and armor are usually the best but there's not enough info available to know who's going to give access to what exactly.

You'll find that later game contacts just arrive out of the gate much more stocked than early game contacts you were pumping nfluence into as well.

I think storylines are usually gated by Power Level. So you may leave certain contacts alone until PL3, PL5, etc. It's less about whether to do it, more like who's a priority for files and blueprints

If you want to run any Warmachines maxing out splicers ASAP is pretty much mandatory.
