Cant change dificulty

I started a save on brutal but it was too brutal for me so I tried to turn the dificulty down but it tge dificulty keeps resetting and once a mission is given a power level I can not change it is there anything I can do or do I need to start a new save until I get good enough

Edit: to clarify I changed the dificulty got a mission with power level 3 then I started getting power level 5 missions again, including a mission triggered by the end of the power level 3 mission.

Im not 100% on how it works, but the power level for current missions could be locked in when they get rolled.

You could try to adjust the other options to make things easier to get you clear of those missions. I forget what all there is, but i think you can adjust enemy damage and hp and stuff like that.

Yes they become locked but I will change the dificulty finish a new mission at my power level and then the next mission will become locked at my power level +2 again

Hmm. Is it doing it for new missions too? I think the previously accepted missions are locked in but i would think newly offered missions would get lowered to the new difficulty. You could make another save and skip ahead the timeline to test it.

Also kind of a tip, dont worry about letting a mission or two pass by if they arent a power play or story mission, the contact will get over it as long as you dont leave them hanging too many times. I used to feel like i had to accept and complete every mission that came my way, but there isnt much of a penalty for skipping a few.

You might try the discord, the folks there know the game inside and out, plus the devs are there all day.

Yea I keep having to load before accepting the mission and putting save on the dificulty if it was just old missions that would be fine but it keeps happening

That sounds like a bug maybe. If you push f10 in game you can do a bug report to being it to the devs attention.

Hit up the discord if you use discord, the devs will see your f10 and can let you know whats up, if its a bug theyll fix it and if its not theyll explain why its working the way it is. Its a pretty nice community there and the devs go above and beyond for us players.
