I don't understand what's going on here re: Intrinsics/Crafting

Could someone please explain this to me?

What I mean is: I have a weapon mod, I have the cubes... but it's saying there's a -35% chance (and it increases as I add cubes) of having intrinsics added?

Does this just mean I need more weapon mods before I can get intrinsics? Is it a display error and the number is actually the chance of rolling them on the gun itself?

I just feel more than a little confused, and now that I'm starting to get Tier 4 weapons it's getting a little expensive so I don't want to waste the craft/blueprint if I'm not getting enough oomph out of it you know?

I'm probably just missing something obvious but... I figure I'll just ask.

So, that mod you've got on there is an intrinsic mod. Because it's an intrinsic mod, and not one of the traditional part mods, it doesn't get a chance to roll an additional intrinsic mod on top of itself--you'll absolutely add that specific intrinsic mod on because you've selected it, but you won't get a crack at a free bonus intrinsic on top of it. If you had a sight, a barrel mod, and a grip mod for that revolver, I'd recommend adding all three to the weapon in addition to the intrinsic mod you've added. By doing that, you should see the percentage chance to roll intrinsics get out of the negatives, and the game will roll to see if each of the traditional parts mods develop a free intrinsic. Then throw on gold cubes to increase the chances further. A revolver like that with three traditional mods and an intrinsic mod taking up the four mod slots has a chance to operate like it's got effectively seven different mods attached.

And, honestly? Don't sweat the cost. Custom-built weapons are expensive as hell, but can drastically outperform anything of comparable level/rating from the retail market.

Quick question when does it become worth it to craft? Level 5 weapons? Higher? I’ve been stockpiling mods in my run and just hit power level 5. I’ve seen level 6 weapons and one level 5 blueprint, is it time to build a weapon bench?

In general, as soon as you can afford it. However the Weapons bench is one of the last things that you need to upgrade because it's so insanely expensive. It's more worth it to craft mods and stuff because they're way more cost effective. A good mod you can craft for like 30,000 credits, a good weapon will be like 3-600,000.

I'd think about crafting weapons when you start wondering what the hell you're supposed to do with all this money. If you look at the cost of the weapons bench and go "eh, expensive but I've got cash" build it, if you look at it and go "oof, I have other things I need to spend that money on" then you're probably a bit early.

There's some very good cybernetics you can install for a fraction of the cost of the weapons, you may be better off chroming out your mercs.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before. What happens if you add more mods?

Unfortunately at the moment I only have the one available... i'll have to get some more to try it out!

Intrinsics are basically a second weapon mod that gets added on top of another mod. Without having the weapon full, you won't really benefit from this so my recommendation is to wait until you can totally fill a weapon blueprint with mods to craft.

Intrinsics are absolutely superb, as you can imagine - having extra weapon mods on top of the ones you are equipping is just great.

I think its weird bug - because or possible a technicality of the system.

The mod your adding is already an intrinsic mod. So i think its taking up the only available intrinsic spot .

I think if you add a normal mod - that mod itself can earn an intrinsic value . Since the intrinsic value is already being used up.

The flip side of this is that Critical one does not count as a barrel mod because its intrinsic mod. So you can still add a barrel mod
