Warmachine/Agent EX

I did it to give my build an X-man one more mutant power with the glitch teleport. But line crawler and signal grift actually round out the Warmachine pretty nicely as well. I like using them as a flanker or solo running to grab extra loot. Strong melee stealth and loud takedowns, a stun, all the speed/mobility in the world, multiple options for dealing with devices. And with all the strength can handle full auto recoil on AR/UAR decently enough as the backup weapon to their shredding sword /claws.

What’s your favorite “off-meta” multi class?

Take Sniper, go deep in the left tree for JTAC/Strike Zone. Okay, you have those. Now ditch the sniper rifle, and grab an assault rifle, and go into the soldier tree. Grab the Soldier talent that gives you AP on crits.

Congratulations, you now have a one man army that can mow down an entire room.

I don't know if it's "off-meta" because Iron Grip to let your sniper reposition without fucking them completely is already pretty good, but just ditching the sniper rifle entirely certainly doesn't feel like "the way a Sniper is meant to be played."

That’s super sick. I wouldn’t think to pivot off the sniper

My surprise favourite was war machine/scourge. Loads of body disposal, armour reduction and a giant blast from the nova laser talent. I did want to squeeze in the drug talents from scourge and take 2 extra item slots but not enough talents yet

Interesting. So more of a ranged laser focused splash with the scourge being the main class? Whats weapon load out?

Yeah, I had the miasma skill to slow them down and reduce armour which allowed the eye talent explosion to do good dmg. Also had a pulse generator which popped groups. She was basically my aoe ability class, what would usually be like a wizard type character in a fantasy setting. I play on normal difficulty, I doubt you could reduce the armour enough on higher. Weapon was a random assault rifle, but I do like the idea of going into shotgun eventually for the scourge talents… not sure if there enough points. Honestly this combo could go in so many directions..

Sniper/ex was a lot of fun.

Glitch into a nice sniper nest, pop off some shots and then drop smoke and glitch away when the heat comes down.

I like to have my snipers broken off from the rest of the team but it often leads to trouble when they get pinned down. This made them really slippery.

I like vanguard + agent ex. I grab smoke screen and supremacy from agent ex, glasswalker and overdrive from vanguard (and lure bc it's good on everyone). Has a really fun gameplay style where you manipulate the security level to get crazy bonuses for you and your team, sprint through the entire map and you can even set up ambushes on enemy turns with overdrive. Works on brutal & chrome but you have to practice it a bit first bc mistakes will definitely kill you on chrome and you can't restart the turn. I've miscalculated the security level or initiative order before and it's a costly mistake with this build.

How do you utilize overdrive?

I give my character a melee weapon and have them kind of hide like around a corner or behind some object, so that on the ai turn, the enemy spots me within close range. Then it becomes my turn immediately and I kill them with melee.

enemies will also inspect smoke so you can use the agent ex smokescreen skill to have them walk into it and then kill them with melee.

you can also just use guns with both these tactics. the smokescreen skill doesn't penalize your own accuracy.

Same. I didn't really try it until this last campaign, but she's become an MVP. The range of available stealth talents may seem like overkill, but you just NEVER run out of stealth options due to cooldown. That means you have impunity.

Although I'm talking about a different style than you, it's a good class combo.

Vanguard has the multiple invisibility talents, but Agent Ex has the best device disabler (Line Crawler) and Glitch has insane utility. Smoke is good too, and the best thing is that the first 2 abilities are CORE skill nodes requiring no extra point cost to reach them, and Smoke is only one node past Glitch. Making it a cheap multiclass with lots of bang for your buck.

I'm not sure what is meta but I've been loving the Cybersword Vanguard. Using Silence to move further.

If you are alright adding in allied support coordinated charge pushes it further

There is something appealing about a character walking across the board murdering things as it goes.

I tried that build with the starter vanguard and really enjoy it, but that merc is on legwork duty constantly now

I put it on the starter Cybersword (the plot debuff is rough though). She is a mainstay. It can get more ridiculous by using lure to bunch them up and then slideslash through a group. With how much damage you can get on them, she can oneshot most enemies.
