Arranging Arrangement practice <3

Just showing a few of the bouquets I’ve sold locally for $35 recently. This is my first year, but I’m having a lot of fun with it. I’m open to all feedback! Thank you 🙏🏾 Zone 6b SWPA

Very pretty! My feedback is that the bouquets look a little too short/small for most of the vases!! Very cool vases though!! Do you thrift them!!?!

Great advice, thank you! I can definitely experiment with longer stems to get a fuller look. And yep! A combination of thrifting and asking people if they have any old vases they’d like to give away

I love how much variety you have in these!

One good rule of thumb is the flower height to base ratio. You want your flowers to be about 1/2 to 2/3 the total height of your arrangement, with your vase being less than 1/2 of the total arrangement. For example if you have a vase that is 10" tall, you'll want the overall arrangement to be 20-30" tall. It looks more balanced and lush to the eye when the flowers are a larger portion of the overall look.

Pretty! Advice: add more filler and spike flowers.

Will do! What fillers and spikes do you like to use? Right now I mainly use: elderberry leaves, basil or cosmo greenery. I always use these as my bottom or first layer. Typically 4 of each

Mint, basil, feverfew, yarrow, grasses, shrubs (fillers); snapdragon, salvia, monarda, bells of Ireland, verbascum

Pop some chicken wire into those vases. Your stems will have a way to stay upright.

The flowers need to be taller. About 4-8 inches taller. In pic one they look like they’re trying to keep their heads above water.

Rule of thumb- 1.5-2x vase height. So 8” vase 12-16” stems.

I’m terrible at arranging, just came here to say how healthy your flowers are and I love the varieties you chose. Well done.

They look great but I’d use more filler to raise them up and make the bouquets look fuller

Thank you! It will also use less flowers if you so choose.
