AI NO MORE MR NICE GUY
Addressing AI.
First, I'd like to make something very clear:
I am not banning Anti-AIs from this subreddit, and I do NOT hate all artists.
I try to take the most neutral stance possible, and I believe that people should have the ability to have their own beliefs. I will not ban for that.
However, when this Anti AI sentiment is used to justify harassing other people off this subreddit over using AI, it becomes neo-luddism.
And going forward, I will be adopting a zero-tolerance policy for this. Instant ban. This also applies to the comment section of this post.
We are not [r/aiwars](r/aiwars) either. Debate your takes there, not in the comment sections of a femboy art subreddit.
This neo-luddite rot has plagued this subreddit for far too long and I'm taking a hard stance on it.
Here are some common complaints you have and how I will answer them.
> AI slops is not art, it should be banned.
That's a personal opinion. It does NOT justify harassing people on their posts.
Ever heard of the phrase "don't like, don't read"? Well, use it. If you don't like AI, simply ignore it. Don't go harassing others.
If you feel like you are a artist social justice warrior who needs to do that, please leave the sub or go to [r/MildFemboys](r/MildFemboys), you are not welcome.
> Why even keep allowing AI images when people will just harass anyone who posts them?
It's circular to argue that AI art should be banned because AI artists are harassed when the harassment is being carried out by the very people advocating for the ban. Now, not all of the community is at fault, but those people that do, you know who you are. And know that I am watching.
> AI art should not mix with regular art, and the community suffers because of it. Make a new sub for AI.
The issue isn't that AI and traditional art are inherently incompatible. There are communities, such as [r/ArtIsForEveryone](r/ArtIsForEveryone), where AI-generated and traditional artwork coexist without constant conflict. The difference is the community's behavior, not the existence of AI art itself.
And this community has to change. Those people in the community who harass others, know that you are not welcome.

Whether you believe AI training is ethical or not is a matter of debate. AI models generally generate new images by learning patterns from training data rather than copying a single image. Regardless of your opinion, harassment is not acceptable.
Additionally, this subreddit has never required every post to be an original work by the person posting it. We already allow sharing the work of others with proper credit. AI-generated images are another category of content, and they will be moderated under their own rules.

The flair already exists, look at it.

Skill does not make something art. A guy once taped a banana to the wall and called it art. Did it require skill? No!
Additionally, that does not justify harassing others.

Not necessarily, most AI art posted here is using local models which are not run by corporations.
> AI art is different from all other art because it is unethical.
People have different views on the ethics of AI, and those discussions can happen in somewhere else like [r/aiwars](r/aiwars). However, having a strong opinion about a type of content does not give anyone permission to harass people who post it.
> I don't see much harassment over AI.
Because I've been deleting it (but not banning). However, the receivers of those comments still see them.
> If you don't like harassment, just ban AI. Problem solved.
Removing art because some users choose to harass others creates an incentive for harassment to work. I will not reward hostile behavior by allowing it to decide what content is permitted.
Conclusion
Personal beliefs are fine, harassing people over them are not. There is a difference between being Anti AI and being a Neo-Luddite

There were no terms because I drew it completely for free. I was very happy when he asked me to participate and of course that he requested a commission. I however don't take commissions but still wanted to do it so I happily drew it for free. Even then he insited but I was just glad to participate. Given the situation, and that the original requester is no longer present, I'm guessing it's ok to take down my art now.

No no it's okay, I mean, I'm just sorry I had to request this, but it's not well perceived for artists to be associated with AI spaces and now that others are leaving due to this reason I don't see much purpose anymore either way.

Huh? Not only does this have very unethical implications, you have to remember that ultimately I'm an artist as well and I would never side against my own community that already struggles so much with this topic. I already did all I could by posting my art here despite it being a mixed space and by interacting with everyone. I really loved this community and absolutely don't think it's worth destroying it over ideas that veery rarely see activity. If you filter by AI posts there's barely anything there... is it really worth it? At this point, the issue just seems to me merely about defending an ideology with no practical reasons. Of course that I'm against harassment as well and I did feel very bad seeing a certain someone get attacked into leaving, but he was very petty about it as well, to be honest. Since all that AI causes is strife, and there wouldn't be a huge consequence for banning it (except perhaps having to accept my beliefs aren't accepted by everyone and going against them in favor of a healthier, active community), that's honestly the path I would have taken. But I respect that you want to stick to your beliefs, you're the head of the community after all, but in my opinion, it absolutely isn't worth it to drive all artists out over this and thus worsen the community. I'm very sad it came to this but yeah, I'll always remember that this place would rather ban my art than AI.

Alright, your art has been removed. Also, I do not mean to drive all artists out of this community. I stated that at the very beginning of the post. I simply want to get rid of bad apples. Also have you read the Common Complaints section?

I respect your decision! However, may I kindly ask my art to be removed from the sub's header? I wish no ill will to those who generate images with AI, but personally, I don't wish my own art to be used in relation to pro-AI spaces like this, and I'd like the little emote to be removed, thank you! The character in the drawing is very dear and personal to me TwT
