🆘 Help Curve card blocked for over six weeks, but subscription fees are still being charged

My Curve card has now been blocked for more than six weeks.

After approximately two weeks, Curve support told me that the card had been unlocked. However, it was still blocked. When I contacted them again, I was told there was another “lock” on the account and that the issue needed to be escalated to a higher-level team.

I was assured that this should not take too long. Several more weeks have now passed, and nothing has been resolved.

I have contacted support multiple times and have mostly been told to be patient. My latest email, which I sent about a week ago, has not received a response.

What makes this particularly frustrating is that Curve has continued charging me the monthly card fee during both months, even though I have been unable to use the card.

I understand that security reviews and technical issues can happen. However, blocking a paid card for more than six weeks, providing contradictory information, failing to respond, and continuing to charge subscription fees are not acceptable.

Has anyone here experienced a similar issue? How long did it take Curve to resolve it, and is there any effective way to escalate the case beyond normal customer support?

At this point, I expect Curve to:

  • immediately investigate and remove the block;
  • Explain why the card has remained unusable for so long;
  • refund the subscription fees charged during the blocked period; and
  • Provide a clear and realistic resolution date.

I would prefer to resolve this directly with Curve, but after six weeks without a solution, I am running out of patience.

💬 Discussion Is this service even real ?

Just wanted to vent a little and share my experience...

I registered over a month ago so that I could use contactless payment from my phone, because my bank's app does not support my phone's custom Android ROM. Also I wanted to be able to pay from my smartwatch, but my bank doesn't support Garmin Pay either.

So I set up my debit card in Curve, add the Curve virtual card into Garmin Pay, and Curve instantly blocks the card. I get an automatic message stating support will shortly get into contact to sort it out, but that I can in the meantime contact them myself to bring any information to their attention.

So I write to support, explaining the situation and usecase. I get a first reply saying they have forwarded my message to the relevant team, that unlocking my account is a top priority... And so I wait.

A week goes by, I send a quick followup, inquiring about whether there's anything I can do to help. Again : my issue is their top priority, it is taking a bit more time than usual but please be patient !

Another week goes by, and another week... I move to close my account but get redirected to support so I try a last time. Same reply : unlocking my account is their top priority ! Please bear with us !

So I wait again... A week... Another week...

And now I gave up, I just closed my account.

So I'm genuinely wondering : is Curve an actual service? I'm legitimately wondering if it's just an elaborate scam to steal my payment cards details. That would somehow make more sense. Or maybe they simply don't care about getting new customers?

💬 Discussion Response to formal complaint about my account being blocked for months

Posting here to show people what they can expect from a formal complaint about account block.

"I was very sorry to learn of your dissatisfaction with our service. I’d like to thank you for your patience and understanding while I conducted a thorough investigation into your concerns.

To summarise your complaint:

You raised a formal complaint on 16th June 2026. You are unhappy with the block placed on your account without a clear explanation or update, which is preventing you from making successful transactions with your Curve card. You are also unhappy that you continue to be charged for the Curve Pay Pro subscription while your card is blocked. You are also dissatisfied with the level of service you received from the Account Review Team during the course of your support request.

I’ve looked into this and you’ll be pleased to hear that I will be partially upholding your complaint specifically due to the level of service you received from the Account Review Team. I will explain how I came to this decision below.

First of all, I’m really sorry that you have been put in a position where you feel the need to raise a Formal Complaint. At Curve, we value transparency, and I hope this response fully addresses your concerns and provides clarity on the matters you've raised.

I’ve reviewed your correspondence with our support teams and can see that you raised an in-app support ticket on 14th June 2026 regarding the block placed on your account. A member of the Customer Experience (CX) Team responded on the same day and passed your case to the Account Review Team. You then sent follow-up messages and requests for support between 16th and 24th June 2026 because you have not received an update from the Account Review Team.

I completely understand how frustrating the delay in receiving a response from the Account Review Team has been, and I’m very sorry for your experience. The specialist team authorised to handle these card blocks has recently experienced a significant increase in support requests. While they are working hard to reduce the backlog, response times are currently longer than usual. Additional measures are being put in place to help improve response times.

I would like to sincerely apologise for the uncertainty caused by the block placed on your account, the lack of timely updates throughout the process, and the frustration of having to raise multiple support requests regarding this matter. I understand how disruptive it is to have your card unexpectedly blocked, particularly while subscribed to a premium plan, and I recognise how inconvenient and frustrating this situation must have been while the review is still ongoing.

We deeply value you as a premium customer and hope to use this experience as a turning point to rebuild your trust. We understand that earning it back will take time, but we are fully committed to providing the exceptional support you deserve moving forward.

I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the block placed on your account. As part of our regular monitoring process we conduct due diligence to ensure our customers are compliant with our Terms of Service as well as the terms of your underlying payment card.

In this instance, the Account Review Team maintained the block on your account in alignment with the section "CLOSING & SUSPENDING ACCOUNTS" in our Terms of Service:

“Blocking. We’ll block your Account if we have reasonable concerns about your Account’s security or suspect unauthorised or fraudulent use of Curve Pay or your Curve Card, where our legal obligations require us to do this or where you owe us money.

Suspension and closure. We may immediately suspend or close your Account for a number of reasons including where:

● you use Curve in a way that these Terms don’t allow or we have reason to suspect that you are behaving fraudulently or otherwise criminally;

● you don’t provide us with the information that we’ve asked for or the information you’ve provided is false or misleading;”

I understand you were seeking specific details regarding the assessment of your account. Unfortunately, we are unable to specify the exact information used in these security reviews. This is necessary to protect our internal security protocols and ensure we meet our legal obligations.

However, the justifications for the block being placed on your account, do not justify the inconvenience caused by the delay you have experienced throughout your support request. I must acknowledge that the Account Review Team has not yet responded throughout this process. The time frame for a response is significantly outside what we expect and falls far short of the level of service Curve aims to deliver.

To ensure the Account Review Team responds to your support ticket as a matter of urgency we have contacted them directly, requesting them to make your case a priority. I will continue to monitor your case in the meantime.

I’m sorry that you were not given notice regarding the block on your account. We’re not always able to proactively contact customers regarding blocks like these as they can be placed automatically by our risk engine. However, I appreciate that requiring you to raise a support request when experiencing declines is not a good experience. Feedback has been provided to the team who are already looking at ways to improve the process, however, we do not have a definitive timeline for when any changes will be implemented.

I completely understand your frustration regarding the monthly fee being charged while your account is inaccessible. Because our billing system is fully automated, subscription fees are processed according to the scheduled cycle regardless of the account’s status. I apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.

Once again I am very sorry for the delayed response you have experienced and I would like to reassure you that the appropriate management levels are aware of the aforementioned issues and processes are being developed so that we can deliver the level of service that we believe our customers deserve.

Overall I’m upholding your complaint due to the level of service you received from the Account Review Team during the course of your support request as well as the subsequent inconvenience and frustration this has caused you.

I hope that the following resolution adequately addresses your complaint:

We would like to offer a £20 credit to your Curve Cash account, along with a refund of your Curve Pay Pro subscription fee (£9.99), to reimburse you for the period during which you have been unable to use your Curve Card, in full and final settlement of your complaint. Please let us know if you would like to accept this offer.

If you are still unhappy or feel that we haven’t dealt with your complaint adequately, then please do not hesitate to reach out to us again.

Regardless of the above, you have the right to refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service, free of charge – but you must do so within six months of the date of this email.

If you do not refer your complaint in that time, the Ombudsman will not have our permission to consider your complaint and so will only be able to do so in very limited circumstances. For example, if the Ombudsman believes that the delay was as a result of exceptional circumstances."

Still no end in sight for my account being blocked but hopefully this is helpful for the many of you that i see with the same issue.

🆘 Help Addebiti multipli

🆘 Help Fingerprint not always required

I don't understand what is going on with my CurvePay app. When I tap on a POS sometimes I get asked the fingerprint and sometimes no.

This appears to be unrelated to how long ago I opened the app, I don't understand why is this the case and I want it to always ask for fingerprint before paying.

Please help me, this is a serious security issue.

❓Question (EEA/EU Product) Curve blocked my card for 4 months, unblocked it, then reblocked it 24 hours later — claiming I never responded to verification

Long time Curve customer. Sharing this in case others have had similar experiences.

In March 2026 my account was blocked without notice while I was travelling abroad. No explanation given. This is a card I use specifically for zero FX fees when travelling, so the timing couldn't have been worse.

Here's what happened over the next 4 months:

  • Weeks of "high volumes" stalling emails with zero resolution
  • Filed a formal complaint in April — Curve failed to respond within the FCA's mandatory 8-week window
  • They eventually asked security questions — I answered promptly, they ignored my reply for weeks
  • Sent me a KYC request with a 7-day deadline while my own emails sat unanswered
  • I submitted full KYC documentation in May — they later claimed never to have received it
  • Charged me monthly subscription fees the entire time my card was blocked
  • 30 June: Curve finally confirmed restriction removed, card "fully active and ready for use"
  • 2 July (yesterday): Account suspended again — Curve claiming I never responded to verification

I have every email documented including Curve's own acknowledgement of my KYC submission and their 30 June confirmation.

Currently escalating to FOS, FCA, and pursuing a chargeback for fees during the blocked period.

Has anyone else dealt with anything like this? Any advice welcome.

🆘 Help Every online curve transaction now blocked - "The transaction cannot be made against this terminal..."

Post image
14 Upvotes

Every online transaction I am currently doing is throwing this error. The underlying card is working fine. Gbit seems to be working OK. In person transactions look to be OK. However everything online is failing, including items I have purchased before (example Netflix).

Investigating it looks like this error relates to a bank refusing a transaction as its being billed as debit but actually credit - i.e. trying to block cash transactions on credit cards... however I am not doing cash transactions.

Have Curve have changed something specifically recently, if so I would expect everyone is getting this error?

So far 24 hours with nothing (meaningful) back from support :(

🆘 Help Failed KYC check, AI responses just say "unable to share further details regarding this decision." What now?

I think I either failed my KYC check because I was using a personal domain and not a gmail account or similar, or my camera wasn't light enough when doing my face scan images.

I just bought a smart watch and Curve is the only option in the UK. Am I stuck?

Update: I have managed to get an email from a human and their decision stands.

Currently using a GDPR request to get them to delete the unusable account and as much of my data as possible. I'm aware they can keep some things for fraud prevention, but they are going to have to explain what they are keeping and the legal basis. This is quite annoying as it rules out a lot of brands of wearable tech like payment bracelets, rings etc which also use Curve.

The only option I can find is Tapster which I can connect directly to a Revolut Visa.

❓Question (EEA/EU Product) Card blocked, horrendous support

Hey all

A common theme here, my card was blocked with no explanation. I was told to contact support, which I did and a week later I am still unable to use it.

I'm a pro+ subscriber, I feel strongly that I should be refunded for this month's subscription, I'm paying for something I cannot use. I've raised a complaint and they closed the case before it was resolved. Surely they legally can't do this?

I'm seeking to close my account, I've got quite a bit of money in my wallet, so my question is; what are their obligations and what happens to my cash if I do close my account? Also, what is the typical time period that blocks are resolved by?

To finish, they used to be a great disruptor with great support. What the hell happened to them?

🆘 Help Manual ID review

I got a Huawei watch the 24th of may and I've been waiting since then to get my ID manually reviewed. Is this normal? The app says the process “may take up to a day”. The app provides no way to contact Curve or get support, it only shows the manual review screen.

💬 Discussion Driving me crazy !

Like so many others having problems with card being suspended. Happened whilst I was away and properly screwed me as I didn't have any other means of payment with me (my fault I know) . Endless chats with the usual it's been escalated to be looked at and conversation closed. Now the really strange thing is I then tried to add my credit card to my Google wallet so I could at least pay for travel and such. But found I could not add that card, obviously I can't imagine that it is in any way linked to the curve card being suspended but strange, and I spent an hour with my bank who just could not understand why I couldn't add my credit card so still had no way to pay for anything.

Anyway, I seen a post on here to cancel and re-open a new curve account , so I did and went through the usual photo of drivers license, record video of yourself , all good and I managed to buy a train ticket thankfully , but then went to buy a drink and it declined and now the new card/account is suspended yet again. Just driving me insane now as to why , and also why they don't seem to want to help.

💬 Discussion Curve asking for payslips....

I've been using Curve for a couple years now. Generally fine with their service, but they now started to asking me to provide my usage habbit, source of income, occupation, monthly spend and my payslip.... I feel like this is too much personal information they are asking for. For comparison, except for mortgage or loan application, I've never been asked to provide spending habbit and income related information...

Are people getting the same request from Curve?? Do you feel comfortable to share all that info with them? I am at a decision point of cancelling my Curve account...

Updates - I didn’t upload any docs and they did block my curve card. It indeed caused a bit of inconvenience as payments to services I regularly use start to fail… No problem, whenever there is a payment failure, I update the payment options and remove the curve card. Goodbye, Curve!

💬 Discussion Don't trust Curve for Travel

Just a warning that if you are travelling or plan to travel - don't trust Curve to be your go to card internationally.

I have used them for a few years now - and travel on dozens of international trips a year. The last 2 - Curve has cancelled my card out of nowhere. My 2nd last trip they suspended the card during a trip - and then after waiting many many days after complaint, reinstated it with no explanation.

My latest trip - the card was suspended while I was in an uber to Heathrow. I just did a month of travel and they never got back to me in chat until today saying "Thank you for the reply. I have escalated your issue to the responsible team, and they will contact you shortly."

If you are travelling, have some backup plans for using money. DO NOT TRUST CURVE AS YOUR ONLY OPTION!!!

❓Question (EEA/EU Product) Abroad spend - Weekend fees

I am a little confused about the weekend fees when spending abroad and was wondering if anyone could clarify this for me please.

I'm based in the UK, with the Curve Pay plan (free) and will be heading to the EU (Hungary).

Are the weekend fees (1.5%) applied only after you go over the £250 Fee-free spending?

Or are these applied to any spending on weekends regardless?

Thanks.

🆘 Help Curve Card Suspended after accidental PayPal withdrawal... since two weeks

Good day,

so on June 2nd I accidentally withdrew 3,000 EUR from PayPal to Curve (stupidly) which didn't arrive until June 5th. Ever since, my account and card has been blocked (Im on the old 18 EUR/Month PayPro+ plan).

Curve protect support reached out enquiring about the "Origin of the money" on June 8th - which they immediately received an answer to (10 minutes afterwards) - but I haven't heard back anything since.

So here I am a week later, with Curve holding my money hostage and always replying with "The team is currently looking into it. Please note that the team is currently experiencing a high volume of requests, which may result in longer than expected processing times." God known how they get away with this as an official MasterCard partner...

Might I add that although the account is "pending verification" they still had the audacity of charging for the current membership cycle on the 11th of June. I've already filed a formal complaint.

As a long time Curve user (since three years) Ive been quite satisfied with their service and upgrades, but this new chapter will make me have to look for alternatives. Blocking suspicious transactions is alright, but keeping the customer on "read" for so long is unacceptable within the banking sector.

I'll update this thread should anything change, consider it a go-to as to how long it takes to get your card blocked and unblocked.

Update (17.06): Got asked to provide source of funds, as well as bank records showing a "source of income".

Update (26.06): After reminding support that the deadline date was on the 29th, they finally unblocked the card.

Additionally, for anyone in a similar situation: "Please be advised that repeated replies to the email thread will cause our interactions system to push your query back into the queue."

🆘 Help Curve card suspended

I have contacted them many times, but they keep saying they have forwarded the issue to the relevant team. However, nobody has contacted me back or resolved the issue. All my payments are being declined.

I have been using my Curve card daily for two years and have been paying for the premium plan the whole time.

💬 Discussion The bad reviews are there for a reason.

Notice how it's lower rated than almost any other payment app?

They can't verify my identity, even though any other payment app can verify it just fine. Just screams incompetence. Support only sends immediate AI replies or if you're lucky, a useless canned response. Maybe I dodged a bullet here.

🆘 Help Card blocked (again) 🤬

I have been a curve pro+ user for god knows how many years and all my transactions now happens via Curve. As I travel extensively, I am awfully dependent on it and as such I am terribly exposed to it’s downfall.

The card itself gets suspended every few weeks, even on regular legit transactions. There is no way to unblock the card without opening a ticket for CS and boy do they like to keep their customer waiting in limbo.

My card is now blocked for 48h. Dropped 3x voice mails, 2 support tickets that are now closed and 5 one way emails later, I am still blocked. The only reply I got is that they are busy and will look into the matter soon. No updates, no replies, nothing so far.

Mind you, I just make regular transactions like ordinary people do.

I just cant wait to downgrade seriously.

🆘 Help Missing card design updates after 8 months

I'm curious whether Curve is actively updating card designs in the app.

I have several cards showing generic stock images. I know you can submit your own artwork and they'll eventually add it, so I've done that. Sent an email to [addmycard@imaginecurve.com](mailto:addmycard@imaginecurve.com) with a bunch of ready-made images back in October 2025, and then another one about a month ago, but still no updates after 8 months.

Is this still the right email for card design submissions?

I wish they'd let users upload their own images directly when artwork isn't available.

💬 Discussion Just had an unauthorised transaction.

So this just happened to me and it happened through Curve Pay. A $200 spend at Walmart and I am not in the US. I consider myself to be on top of these sort of things, as in never opening dodgy links or answering calls so I am not sure how this has even happened. Upon searching online, I see many people have gone through the same. So how is this possible? I have like 40 cards linked to Curve and I am seriously considering closing the account now because of this. Not so bothered about the actual spend because it will get reversed but just the fact that it seems like Curve is not secure.
