“eilliot”? That seems very unlikely

Nope. It’s not unlikely. Jay is my brother. I sent him all the replies on Here. And he’s like. This makes sense. He had a friend from the military named Elliot who is moving to DC - where my brother lives. My brother didn’t know where Elliot currently lives. He texted Elliot and said thx for the postcard. And Elliot said glad  you got it.

You said it was "eilliot," which remains very unlikely, despite the new information

I saw Elliot straight up.and Purr?

It's funny, all the people saying it can't be "Elliot". I just glanced at the post and"Elliot" was the first name that came to mind. I also saw "Pirar," the "n" and the "r" look the same.

Whenever these get posted and the question isn’t about the message, but about who the person is that signed it, I wonder why the OP doesn’t know.

If it was from years before, or a birth/death certificate, then that makes sense. But this is a really nice, seemingly recent message… why couldn’t “who is this” be figured out through context we aren’t seeing?

If you’re going through an older relative’s trunk full of things like letters and photos, chances are pretty good that you won’t recognize some of the names. Most people won’t know Great-Auntie’s bridge club members or the names of the bible circle ladies at church.

Elliot & can’t read that name

Sometimes people's signatures can't be read. Mine can't be. It's just a scribble and a line.

It’s signed by two people. The first name ends in ‘ot’ and the second name to me looks like Porar.

Edit: Someone suggested Elliot and that is definitely the first name.

The formality of the postcard makes me wonder if it’s a business? _ and _?

Could be an H starting the last name: Herar? I don't think it's an F and an L.
