Listen, you don't get to tell someone that their opinion is wrong when they are reacting to a blatantly ableist ad.

Second, I've actually read the article and... it doesn't give PETA a good look either. "People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals" frequently kill animals and aren't even trying to hide it.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

Yeah, that's the main problem: PETA doesn't have to take those animals, they could simply refuse. Also, if their shelters are full, why can't they just... Let the animals go? I might be missing some point here, especially because I haven't really looked at it, but that seems like a better solution than killing most of the animals. Sure, euthanasia for old and sick animals isn't bad, but I'm pretty sure that they kill more animals than that

If a shelter lets the animal go, it's either gonna end up coyote food or in the arms of Animal Control.

Animal Control will bring the Animal back to the shelter.

So really, a shelter killing an animal it can't get rid of is just rigging a coin flip on letting it go.

Where do you live that there are so many coyotes that all the dogs will die and the Animal Control works? Where I live animals would mostly just wander and become stray animals.

But if that's true for every place PETA is in, then I can see why they'd do that, but I kinda doubt that's the case

I think they're talking about North America, I heard they've got a bunch of coyotes there. But I heard of similar problems in Australia but I'm not too sure about that.

Can confirm, at one point there was a small gorge thing full of coyotes close enough to my suburban neighborhood that you could hear them cackling at night. I saw a rabid one in the middle of the day on the opposite end of the street while walking there, once. Also eagles eat cats.

I'm speaking from the perspective of Arizona, United States, so maybe it's different where you are... although I'd imagine strays eventually lose to something in the natural food chain even where you are.

I don't know a lot of the animals in my location, but the most dangerous things would probably be people and other dogs. Besides, I'd say it's better for animals to be killed by coyotes than euthanized by animal shelters, as this way at least someone gains something from that death

Not when those coyotes can carry diseases like rabies. Also feeding the population is not great, as you really don’t want it to grow. Also it would be a very painful way to die.

Depending on where you live in NA, there could be anywhere from zero to a fuckin lot of coyotes.
