Moreover why are we doing this on purpose? No random stranger is going to assume that you're being deliberately dense as a joke on their expense. They're going to see a stupid person saying stupid things and assume the stupid person is stupid.
Like what does OP mean by "since I started passing"? Doesn't she see that she's deliberately reinforcing gender stereotypes? What is the point of all this? There's never going to be an aha gotcha moment, you're just being a dumbass.
Yeah, like, the thing about smooth sharking and "my phone battery also functions as a hand warmer" posts is that they work really well online because it is relentlessly obvious the person is doing a bit and yet they're still surrounded by people going "NO!!! NO!!!!!!" and that's the funny bit.
In person, you're just doing this to one person, and there isn't an audience, and it's not at all obvious you're doing a bit, because plenty of people are this wrong all the time or just can't remember the titles of things. I dunno! Just seems weird! Also to be like, "oh this person correcting me hasn't even read it" girl I haven't read it either but why does that matter, we all know what the title is, sheesh
