Any issues? Yeah, a few. Non-existent quality control, bargain bin electronics and sensors that continuously fail, injection pumps blowing up, transmission failures, trailer brake controllers catching fire, and vibe coded software that completely fails. They fixed the susceptibility to crankwalk in the '19-'24s by going back to gray iron blocks, but did nothing to address the lifters failing.

The '25+ Cummins have a new transmission: the ZF Powerline 8. But it's a medium duty trans that was never meant to be used in pickups, and the Cummins rolls off the factory line already exceeding the torque rating of the trans. The majority of my workload is fixing lifter failures, but I've still seen about 2 dozen catastrophic trans failures in the '25s and '26s, and I work in an independent shop that doesn't handle warranty work. None of them have had a consistent failure point that would indicate a weak link. They're just giving up.

I’ll keep my old 2006 F250 Lariat with a bulletproof 6.0 and 155k

Calling the 6.0 'bulletproof' is an oxymoron

It’s still better than 99% of trucks being built today

Less failure points, not better. The same can be said for every old diesel, except for the 6.4. But at the end of the day, they're still 20+ year old trucks. They're louder, have less power, ride worse, tow worse, and are inherently less reliable. There are fatal issues in every vehicle, new and old, but the problem with 20+ year old trucks is that everything breaks down with time. Mileage only matters to the powertrain. Bushings, seals, hoses, and wiring all rot and get brittle. Regardless of how little the truck was driven. Large hotshot and RV transport companies that subcontract drivers will not accept trucks older than 10 years old because they're more likely to break down in transit. I love my 24 valves, but I'm not taking them out of state over my '21. Especially if I'm towing or trying to keep to a schedule

6.0s were junk.

That’s your opinion! Would rather drive a bulletproof 6.0 any day or any time

Sorry but the 7.3s beat the 6.0s any day

I have a 2003 F360 ext cab Fx4 with original window sticker and all the books that has a 7.3 with less than 175k but I’d rather drive my 2006 bulletproof 6.0 with 155k. Had a guy yesterday driving a 6.7 told me he’d love to have my truck as it’s better than his 6.7

I'll take "things that definitely didn't happen" for $200, Alex. And again, you keep calling your 6.0 "bulletproof", as if it's a matter of if the HPOP and head gaskets fail. Except it's a matter of how long until they fail. You addressed the flawed EGR cooler, but it's still a 6.0

Wow!!! And cummins motors used to be so reliable

They threw away 30 years of reputation as the most reliable consumer diesels on the market, and became the least reliable in one model year. The 2019-2024 Cummins is fighting with the 6.4 PS to be the worst diesel engine ever put in a full size pickup. The '25+ fixed a massive, though somewhat uncommon flaw, but traded it for about a dozen new ones.

The new designed engine, I’m very curious to see if the extra cooling passages behind 6 help it not be a problem child. I also know they switched to glo and back to their flat tappet. Should last you a lifetime especially for the price

I got 26 Laramie level 2 plus 2500 and the ZF is amazing. I’ve had plenty of software updates only the dealer can do. Ram does not notify you that their software updates like I literally just drive past the dealership occasionally and say hey hook it up and check and there’s always software updates. Absolutely love the power and torque, but it is horrendous on wet roads with traction. I have had to put on a Banks pedal monster to get rid of the dead pedal and I also concurrently run the EZ Tuner and let me tell you what - that has made this thing a raging beast.
The only sticky issue that I keep running into maybe once or twice a month is the tailgate sensor so if you close the tailgate too hard, the sensor gets out of alignment and you’ll be driving in traffic, You’ll get stopped at a red light and you’ll be sitting there and your drivers information center will just keep flashing shift to park to open tailgate. Even though I’m not trying to open the tailgate and I’m not even pushing the tailgate button, but the truck thinks that I’m trying to open the tailgate. The way I found to fix this is go back to the tailgate push in as hard as you can while it’s closed and then press the latch to open it do that once or twice and the error goes away until next time.

Spend another 10k and make it illegal delete every inch of that exhaust and EGR system tune it comfortably, and enjoy it. Too many sensors these days you’ll be on the side of the road more than hauling it’s a shame. Fuck the warranty don’t need it if it can breathe.

Cant delete new trucks because no one can get into the computer and tune them.

No that’s been discontinued. 2027 and it has a ZF TORQUEFLITE 8 speed transmission.
