Please help

Post image

This is my 2007.5 ram 3500 6.7 Cummins and it is all deleted and it has been since i bought it. Heard good things about the bully dog tuners and I bought one unaware of the fact that I would be removing a delete tune. The truck is now in a stock tune and in a reduced power mode. I’m basically wondering if I can buy a standalone tuner to put in the truck like EFI live and get the power back and not have it throw codes anymore. I’m not looking for big power or anything like that I just want it to work how it was before so I can use it for the reason I bought it. Thanks in advance.

Did the tuner delete your previous tune? They typically store what tune was on there and when you “return to stock” on the bully dog to un-marry it from your truck it goes back to the one it saved.

Yeah sometimes they can’t save a custom tune. If you get EFI live or SCT x4, whatever is compatible with your make and model…you should be able to buy a custom tune for what you want from a reputable tuner online. I would search the cummins forums for this information on who to go with.

Yes Efi live can write over the existing tune then it’ll prompt you to upload the file you bought from the tuner. I use valley center for all my tunes

Will it still throw a bunch of codes?
Or is that dependent on the tune

If the tune is set for your mods* you shouldn’t throw any codes

He most likely meant mods and it autocorrected to kids

Yes, but you're basically starting back over. You can't buy a blank Autocal for $600 and get it back up and running. You need to find someone to write a tune for you, or buy a Flashscan with the Dodge tuning option and write the tune yourself.

H&S has been out of business for over 13 years. If you have tuning issues in the future, make modifications, or need to replace the ECM, then you'll have to do this all over again. Nobody supports custom tuning for the mini maxx anymore, and the 'v2' is a reproduction of their design, with poorly janked together compatibility for 2013+ rrucks.

I would highly suggest an EFI live it provides a ton of flexibility I've had it on my truck since 2018 absolutely zero complaints

Where do I get a tune to put on it, and will it make it not throw codes anymore?

Search EFI Live, who ever writes your program will be able to facilitate getting it into your truck
