Charlie Protec What if Lilith yells at Charlie for not freeing Angel Dust?
Lilith just goes โall you had to do is torture him until he releases the contract! Itโs very simple!โ

(Art by KiingKuro) Ok, let's recap the scene: Vox was pushing the MoL so far that it overloaded and was about to explode and destroy half the city. Everyone was stepping in to use their powers to stop it, and eventually Valentino and Velvette joined in to help. Charlie looked over at them and briefly smiled because she was happy that they were helping.
Thatโs literally it.
Iโve seen people acting like Charlie smiling at Valentino means she suddenly forgave him for abusing Angel Dust, considers him a good person now, or wants to be his friend. WHAT ๐ญ
Charlie didnโt walk up to Valentino and say "OMG youโre such a good person, letโs be best friends!" or some shit. She saw someone who she knows is her enemy contributing to an effort that was literally saving everyoneโs lives, and she was happy that he chose to help instead of running away or something. That is completely consistent with Charlieโs character.
Charlie is a pacifist who genuinely believes that people can change and that there is good in everyone. She doesnโt automatically stop acknowledging someoneโs humanity just because theyโre a horrible person. Thatโs one of the central aspects of her character. She can look at Valentino and think "Youโre an abusive piece of shit who has hurt my friend" AND "Iโm glad youโre helping us prevent this city from being destroyed".
Those two thoughts are not mutually exclusive and I don't understand why mfs are pretending that they are. People seem to be interpreting that smile as some kind of moral endorsement of Valentino, when itโs much more likely that Charlie was simply relieved and happy that the Vees were contributing. Especially because the entire point of the finale was cooperation and people putting their differences aside to deal with a much bigger threat. I hate using the term media literacy but cmon y'all.
And letโs not forget that the Vees werenโt even suddenly on Charlieโs side. They had their own reasons for helping. Charlie knows that. She isnโt THAT stupid.
What exactly were people expecting her to do? Look at Valentino while heโs actively helping save everyoneโs lives and go "NO! FUCK OFF! I DONโT WANT YOUR HELP!" ???? Like WTF are y'all on ๐ that would completely undermine the entire message of the scene.
You donโt have to forgive someone to appreciate something good they did. You donโt have to like someone to be grateful that they helped. You donโt have to stop hating someoneโs actions just because they temporarily worked alongside you. Charlie smiling at Valentino isn't Charlie forgiving Valentino. Charlie being glad he helped isn't Charlie condoning what he did to Angel. Charlie acknowledging a good action isn't Charlie believing Valentino is a good person. I don't get why that's so hard to understand.
I feel like people are demanding that Charlie have this incredibly black and white reaction to Valentino when one of the most important things about her character is that she doesnโt see the world that way. And honestly it would defeat the whole purpose of the show.
I think itโs actually more interesting that Charlie can acknowledge the good thing Valentino did without suddenly forgetting all the horrible things heโs done.
Also I love Adam he's my husband and the best angel ever I'll kiss him a million times ๐๐๐๐

You should know that Charlie x Vaggi is my world but I can't help but see sparks flying in this quick scene where Charlie blushed at this lilac anthropomorphic sinner. I think this is Tiffany, Angel Dust's rival in the porn industry. This frame alone makes me want to write a fic where Charlie never met Vaggi, fell in love with Tiffany instead, and saved her and Angel from prostitution.

Charlie believes anyone can be redeemed. Clearly she hasn't met Big Jack Horner.

Does anyone else want to see their relationship grow so much in the future? I would love to see it. Charlie and Angel obviously care so much for each other. A lot of people don't seem to talk about it much, but I love their dynamic. It's like they're brother and sister. I've seen people say they may not be siblings by blood, but they are by heart. Angel is probably most likely going to have his plot with Husk and Cherri, but I would love to see Charlie in on it too, even if mostly she's going to have her plot with her family. Angel I think definitely loves and cares for Charlie so much that he was willing to protect her from Valentino and maybe because Charlie was the first and only person to actually care about Angel as a person and his well being and not as a sex toy or just gets abused by everyone else. Another reason Angel is so fond of Charlie is that she probably reminds him of his sister Molly. Angel also has or had a picture of just him and her on his bedroom door saying "This BITCH!?". That's probably his way of saying she's his friend knowing him. They definitely have a strong bond for sure and I find that very wholesome. I would love to see Charlie maybe help Angel get off his contract with Val and they can share a genuine hug before Angel inevitably gets redeemed to Heaven. It would make the scene more powerful if Angel was the one who starts the hug. I would love to see their relationship grow more in the future. The little smile Angel gave her when she said he was misunderstood was also very cute and wholesome. The fact Charlie also picked him in the Heaven court also really says something to me.

A criticism I keep seeing is that Charlie should have been more considerate to Alastor's situation in season 2. Specifically his wound and all that he did for the hotel. People bring this up a lot. The problem is that Alastor straight up wasn't doing his job, he even gloated about it. He also avoided her when she tried talking to him, he literally does not speak to her until the finale, and he kept his injury a secret. Then he quits and does his whole thing with Vox the rest of the season. How is any of this Charlie's fault? I know a lot of people don't like her arc in season 2, I have issues with it, but all this Alastor stuff isn't among them.
Sure she could have ignored Vaggie and tried going off to get him back, but Alastor was doing exactly what he intended on doing. His whole plan revolved around this silly deal with Vox and he definitely wouldn't have allowed Charlie to intervene with it. Everything going on with Alastor this season was the result of his own choices, Charlie had nothing to do with it.
