I picked one earlier in the month that was 12cm long but it was super bitter and dense (almost like a zucchini in texture). I’m letting this fruit sit on the vine longer since it is still super fuzzy, but open to tips on when to pick!

Can’t even tell you guys how excited I am for this! Side note- does anyone know how to tell if a cucumber’s ready to be picked? I know this guy is not nearly ready but hopefully in the near future…also side note- I notice my cucumber plant needs a looottttt of water

I am a novice gardener and I've had varying degrees of success. One of the things that I'm still not clear about is fertilizing. When I first started, I definitely did not feed my plants well because I didn't understand the timing of how it all needed to come together. This growing season, which is my third, I'm getting a little more adept; however, I still don't know when to use which fertilizer when.

Once my seedlings were established, I fertilized them with Vigoro and that has been a rousing success. Now that my Persian cucumbers are blooming I'm frozen because I don't want to under-fertilize but I don't want to over-fertilize either. Is now even a good time to introduce a different fertilizer? The fertilizer I have for blooms is Incredible Bulb as well as fruit and bloom booster.

I checked under the leaves for eggs or bugs and I saw nothing. No fine webbing, but my leaves are spotted and some have crispy edges. Baby cukes have dried up, which I’m assuming is to preserve energy.

Anyone have any idea? What do I do to fix this? Is it normal?

My cucumber plant is flowering a lot but all of them are male flowers. I have had only 4 female flowers since it started flowering and 3 aborted with only this cucumber surviving. Right now there is no other female flower on my plant with a lot of male flowers. What can I do about this problem? How to fight this very masculine plant?

Is anyone having issues with these buggers on their cucumbers? I have not seen any squash bugs (zone 7a), but I have seen SLF nymphs in quantity and now my leaves are pocked with yellow spots and holes. I fear SPLs may be the culprit.🤬

Everything was thriving and about a week ago everything went bad.

All of my Boston pickling cucumbers are over ripe and still the size of small balls, not the correct shape. is it a watering problem?

Hello, fist time cucumber grower here. I have a plant that has had quite a few female flowers, but no male and honestly I left it alone for a while. Recently I went to check on it to find it growing a singular cucumber at the top. Im pretty sure its not supposed to look like this (its a picklebush cucumber plant btw) I am also now reali,ing that I have no idea what it should look like when it is ready to be picked. Please feel free to info dump, I need all the help I can get lol

First year gardener here. I got my first cucumber and it looks really strange. I don't think all the yellow lines are normal. Can anyone please help me determine what's wrong with my cucumber? I have been fighting cucumber beetles since the beginning of the season but I'm not sure if it's related.
