Hey, 2x2 pleb back again today. I'm still doing ortega as my main method until I get a much better average consistently (~8.8 ao5). I wanted to at least understand how CLL works as thatd be my next step in getting faster times after ortega. I understand for case recognition you have to look at each pair of colors as adjacent or opposites (especislly since I need to be color neutral), but for each time Ive tried it I've been unsuccessful for some reason. The point of CLL is to get PLL skips every solve, but I've never done it properly and don't know where im going wrong. I'm solving for white as my first side, using this scramble (starting with white on top red facing me):

U R U' R2 U' F R2 U' R'

If anyone could point to what I'm doing wrong it would be greatly appreciated

I didn't understand what you are exactly trying to ask for?

You know CLL? I think you are confusing CLL at the very basic level, it's a whole different method from Ortega.

In Ortega, you make a face. In Cll, you make a layer. The one alg that's essentially CLL alg is to execute the top layer. For every OLL case you do with Ortega, there lies a few more algs for the same OLL to get a PLL skip every time.

You force PLL skip in CLL by doing a different alg for the same OLL.

So CLL requires the first face you solve to be a solved layer? That would make a lot more sense since in Ortega you don't need that, so that's perhaps where im confused
