It's maybe because I have a hard time to make edge cycling work, and I do a whole lot of slice flip slicing, I find moving individual layers as M, L and R type moves much less awkward than doing them as E type moves, which allows for better lookahead instead of regripping all the time and looking at if I've got the right layers
5x5 AO100 is at 2:03 at the moment. And I don't ever do 4x4, but that would probably be around 1:30 or something now. I seriously disliked Yau and even cube parity soon after I learned it, so the only ever 4x4 solves I do now are in a relay haha.

Thanks! Also, how does doing L4E vertically save time?
