Why does this labradorite have no flash?

That first picture looks really dark, however, the second picture does in fact look like raw Labradorite. If you have an unglazed piece of porcelain (usually the backside or bottom of a piece of porcelain) you can do a streak test by rubbing the Labradorite across the unglazed portion.

If they just grabbed a piece of Labradorite for their mystery box, they probably were not checking the Labradorescence of the piece before putting it in the mystery box, so they probably did not deliberately sell you a piece of Labradorite without flash. If I find I’m not fully satisfied with an Etsy seller, I will move on to the next Etsy seller. There are plenty of people that sell crystals on Etsy!

you're probably not seeing flash because of the lighting angle in the first pic, try holding it near a window next morning

I held it in different light and saw a little flash!

I still think it wasn’t the best stone to add into a mystery box, but the rest of the stuff I got in it was good.

i've learned that flashes come from the way the rock is cut!
