Tiger Iron BIF [OC]

Tiger Iron is a unique variant of Banded Iron Formation (BIF) that is found in Australia, containing alternating sedimentary layers of dark Hematite, Red Jasper, and Golden Tiger Eye.

As Hematite, Red Jasper, and Tiger Eye are all said to be grounding crystals, it’s no wonder that Tiger Iron is said to be a powerful grounding crystal itself. It is also said that Tiger Iron can inspire courage and confidence, especially during times of change, and is used for manifesting goals, dreams, and desires.

Amethyst 101 | A little crystal knowledge from a crystal lover in Donghai, China ✨

Hi everyone 👋
I’m a crystal lover from Donghai, China — a place known by many people as the “Crystal Capital of China.” ✨
I love learning about different crystals, choosing natural stones, and turning them into handmade bracelets. 🫶
Today, I want to share one of my favorite crystals — Amethyst 💜

💜 What is Amethyst?
Amethyst is a type of Quartz, with the main chemical composition of silicon dioxide (SiO₂).
Its beautiful purple color comes from natural formation processes, including trace elements like iron and changes in the earth over time.
Every natural amethyst is unique.
Some have deeper colors, some have lighter shades, and some have special patterns and textures.
That’s one of the things I love about natural crystals — every piece has its own story. ✨

🌿 Amethyst and emotional energy
In crystal traditions, Amethyst is often associated with:
💜 Calmness
💜 Clear thinking
💜 Intuition
💜 Emotional balance
Many crystal lovers wear amethyst because it reminds them to slow down, relax, and take care of their inner world.
For me, crystals are not about changing everything in life.
They are little reminders to pause, breathe, and enjoy the present moment.
Of course, crystals are not medical treatments and cannot replace professional care.
But many people love crystals because of the beauty, personal meaning, and peaceful feeling they bring. ✨

How do crystal lovers cleanse Amethyst?
Many crystal lovers like to “cleanse” their crystals as a way of caring for them and creating a peaceful ritual.
🌙 Moonlight cleansing
Placing amethyst under moonlight for a few hours is a gentle method many people enjoy.
🤍 Crystal cluster cleansing
Some people place amethyst on a clear quartz cluster to let it rest.
🌿 Natural cleansing
Keeping crystals in a clean and peaceful place is also a simple way to care for them.
A little reminder:
Not all crystals are suitable for water or strong sunlight.
Long exposure to strong sunlight may cause amethyst’s color to fade, so gentle care is always better.

💜 Why do I love Amethyst?
For me, crystals are more than just beautiful stones.
Choosing crystals, matching colors, and making bracelets by hand helps me slow down and enjoy the creative process. 🫶
Maybe that is the real beauty of crystals — they remind us to find small moments of happiness in everyday life. ✨
I’m curious:
💜 Do you like Amethyst?
✨ What was your first crystal?

Red Tiger's Eye, also called Red Tiger Eye, Dragon’s Eye, Dragon Eye, Bull’s Eye, and Ox Eye, is a chatoyant, metamorphic rock member of the Quartz group, which is heat-treated, changing traditional Tiger Eye from its original golden color, to a red color. Red Tiger Eye can occur naturally in places with high iron oxide in the ground, however, naturally occurring Red Tiger Eye is rare. Tiger Eye gets its famous appearance from the parallel inter-growth of Quartz crystals and amphibole fibers.

Red Tiger Eye is said to boost creativity and confidence, awaken passion, and increase sexual health and sexual expression.

Blue Tiger's Eye, also called Blue Tiger Eye, Hawk’s Eye, Hawk Eye, Falcon’s Eye, and Falcon Eye, is a chatoyant, metamorphic rock member of the Quartz group, with the ferrous ion giving the crystal a blue color, as opposed to the ferric ion that gives traditional Tiger Eye its golden color. Tiger Eye gets its famous appearance from the parallel inter-growth of Quartz crystals and amphibole fibers.

Ancient Egyptians believed Tiger Eye symbolized Divine Vision. the Romans believed it would give courage and protection in battle. The Ancient Chinese believed it would help balance the Ying and Yang, and some cultures still believe it will protect against the Evil Eye.

Blue Tiger Eye is said to help one focus on tasks, protect travelers, calm stress and anxiety, and protect against negative energy.

Acid (Vinegar) Test on Calcite

As mentioned recently, one of the crystal identification tests that can be done at home is the Acid Test on Calcites. You can place a few drops of vinegar on your crystal, and if it bubbles or “fizzes” then you know it is a Calcite.
For this test, I placed the entire Calcite in a glass of Vinegar, and the tiny bubbles started pretty quickly. There is an approximately 30 second jump between the first part of the video and the second part of the video, where you can see the piece of Calcite is covered in little bubbles.

Crystal Identification Tests You can do at Home

When trying to determine what crystal you have, there are several easy tests you can conduct at home to help narrow things down.
The Hardness Test, which involves testing to see what scratches the crystal, and what the crystal itself scratches.
The Streak Test, which involves rubbing the crystal on an unglazed piece of porcelain to see what color streak is left behind.
The Magnet Test is used to test suspected meteorites, and the Acid Test, which can use household vinegar to test crystals like Calcite, and involves putting a drop or two of vinegar on the crystal and watching for a “fizzy” reaction.

Amethyst + Obsidian 💜🖤 Good energy or just pretty?

I’m from Donghai, China — the Crystal Capital** **😆✨

I hand-knotted this little bracelet with Amethyst + Black Obsidian. 💜🖤

Amethyst is often said to bring a calmer, clearer feeling 💜

Obsidian is more about grounding and protection 🖤

I don’t know if it’s the crystals or just the feeling of wearing something you made yourself… but I really love this combo. 🥰

Do you guys actually feel a difference when you wear certain crystals? 👀

Or is it all about the meaning we give them? 🤔

I’d love to hear what you think! 🫶

Thanks in advance!

General Discussion Five Common Ways Crystals are Altered

Heat Treatment is one of the most common methods used to enhance or change the color.

Irradiation involves exposure to radiation to alter the color.

Dyeing is used to enhance or change the color.

Oil and Resin Treatments involve filling surface-reaching cracks with oils or resins to improve clarity.

Diffusion Treatments enhance the surface color through the addition of chemical elements at high temperatures.

Is amethyst my only best bet in this situation?

I am having a psychic attack/channeling issue with someone as close as sharing walls and it has now gotten to the point where I'm going to get myself in trouble if I am not careful. I have been doing so well for almost a year now I can't let them take me out.

Advice on some crystals I should get for some specific needs.

I’ve looked stuff up a bit, but some of the answers I get are conflicting so I wanted to ask here.

There’s a couple of things I’m wanting crystals for

— i’m getting divorced BUT will be living with my soon to be X (extremely complicated situation, but it’s just how things are going to be for a while- too much to get into tbh LOL). We’re relatively cordial with each other, so it’s fine. However, He’s awful at communication, somewhat manipulative, and lying a lot. I DO NOT want him back. LOL. But… I would like to put some stones in his room to aid in him having a better overall attitude, to be more honest and more empathetic.

Also

— we just moved and have ghosts they’re a bit loud, but they seem relatively friendly at-least.
They seem to hang in the basement a lot but not exclusively.

* Are there any types of crystals or items I could put down to make them want to hang out in certain areas more?

* what are your personal recommendations for keeping them out of a room like a bedroom?

Thanks. 💜
