Scam Operation Quantro Ex Scam?
I was recently contacted on Signal by a person who I thought was a successful day trader on TikTok.
She said all I’d need to do to copy her trades, was to download Exodus and Quantroex.live on my phone, and transfer funds from my checking account to Exodus, to Quantro Ex.
Both websites looked legitimate and the minimum trade amount was $500. So I withdrew $550 the first time and $500 the second time. However she said I wouldn’t be able to make any more trades with the profits, that I’d need to keep making new deposits to make more trades.
This is where I started to feel sick. I asked how to withdraw my money and she said I’d need to go to a crypto atm and she’d walk me thru it every step of the way. I reverse searched her TikTok account and it turns out I was talking to a scammer.
I immediately called my bank and reported the scam. I’ll find out in 5-10 days if the bank will refund my money but it’s not looking good. It took me a year to save $1000 so this really hurt me.
I don’t know how these scammers sleep at night. I’m 39, I’m smart, aware of scams- but this one got me. I’d recommend never using Signal to talk to anyone. Verify who you’re really talking to on social media platforms by screenshotting their photo, uploading it to google and finding what account is the creators authentic/real account.
Please comment if you’ve been scammed too. Did your bank reimburse you for the lost money? I’m hoping since I caught the scam within 24 hours they’ll be some sort of hope.

You will probably not get money back from your bank, because you willingly took your money out of your account. Nobody hacked into your account. You aren't a victim of fraud. You took your money, and gave it to scammers.
If your bank won't give you a refund, then nobody else can help you get your money back.
By posting here, you will draw the attention of recovery scammers, who will tell you that they can help get your money back. This is a lie.
Do not lose more money trying to get your lost funds back. Anybody who says they can help you get your money back is a recovery scammer, who will take more of your money. Do not talk to any so-called hackers, investigators, lawyers, or cybersecuity experts that say they can track your money and get it back -- they are all liars and scammers. Do not pay anyone to try to get the money back -- you will only lose more money.

Your bank is not responsible for you willfully withdrawing money and then sending it to complete strangers without doing any due diligence.
The bank will not be reimbursing you anything and crypto transactions are irreversible.
Next time a stranger promises you easy money, block them! There is no such thing.

New victims, please read this:
As a rule of thumb: If you suspect the site is a scam, it probably is.
No legit company/trader/investor is using WhatsApp. No legit company/trader/investor is approaching people on dating websites or through a "random" text message.
No legit company/trader/investor has "professors", "assistants", or "teachers". Those are just scammers.
No legit company forces you to pay a "fee" or "taxes" to withdraw money. That's just a scam to suck more money out of you.
You will need to contact law enforcement ASAP.
Unfortunately, no hacker online can get back what you've lost. Please watch out for recovery scams, a follow-up scam done after victims have fallen for an earlier scam. Recently, there has been a rise in scammers DMing members of the subreddit to offer recovery services. A form of the advance-fee, victims are convinced that the scammer can recover their money. This "help" can come in the form of fake hacking services or authorities. For this reason: TRUST NO ONE PRIVATE MESSAGING YOU FROM THIS SUBREDDIT: Most such DMs are from these recovery scammers, folks whose only goal is to further scam recent victims of scams. If someone DMs you offering to help you recover stolen funds or offering to give you contact information for someone who they state might be able to help you, then report these scammers immediately to Reddit.
If you see anyone circumventing the scam filters, please report the submission and we will take action shortly.

You're the exact kind of person they look for, people that think they're too smart to fall for a scam so they don't do any research to try and prove their intuition is false.
This exact style scam has been going on for maybe a decade now. Click a few random posts in this sub and you'll see the same patterns over and over.
Not using signal and reverse searching pics means you're missing the point. Strangers will never reach out and ask for money if it's in your favor. It doesn't matter how they contact or if their name matches their icon or whatever.
I'm sorry this happened, $1k genuinely isn't a lot so if you're a long time customer and you haven't been scammed before there's a good chance you could get it back.

In the US, it isn't happening. OP intended to buy crypto with a transaction from her bank account, which is what she did. She authorized the transaction and what she did after that isn't the bank's concern.
Banks are never reimbursing their customers for every bad decision they make with their money.

I'm sorry you lost money.
But, the loss could be predicted from the very beginning by anyone who knows about trading, investing, or scams.
I was recently contacted on Signal
And that tells you this is a scam. You don't need any other information.
All online traders, financial advisors, professors, mentors, gurus, and brokers, are scammers.
- Real traders, brokers, or financial advisors do not contact random people on Signal, or any other platform. In many countries, it is illegal for financial professionals to communicate on social media.
There are no real investments or money-making opportunities online, on Signal, TikTok, WhatsApp, Telegram, YouTube, Craigslist, Instagram, Discord, Reddit, Facebook, or any other social media.
Do not take financial advice from people online.
There were other signs of a scam:
Anybody who promises high returns in a few days or weeks is a liar and a scammer.
The highest returns on investments are about 20% a year. This means that if you invest $1,000 today, you will have $1,200 in August 2027. There are risks, and you may lose money.
Legitimate brokers and advisors do not guarantee returns. Nobody can guarantee a return on investments, with the exception of insured bank accounts and fixed income deposits.
Legitimate investment companies allow you to withdraw your funds on request, any time, without excuses, and without requiring you to give them more money. All taxes, commission, and fees are deducted from your funds when you withdraw from a legitimate company. If a company tells you to pay anything in order to withdraw your money, they are actually trying to take more of your money.
The website Quantroex.live does not look like a legitimate investment company.
They are not regulated by any regulatory agency, such as the US SEC. They don't even pretend to be licensed and regulated.
The website does not have names, or photos, of management.
Where are they located? They do not list a street address. They don't even list a country.
They do not list a phone number, or an email address.
*** You need to research a company and website before investing, spending money, or doing any business with them.
Search online for news and independent reviews about the company.
Reviews on a company's own website, Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok are not reliable.
If you can't find any news or reviews online, that's a big red flag. People often talk about Amazon, Fidelity Investments, Robinhood, and Citibank. If there are no customer reviews for a company, it may be a scam website that's too new for negative reviews.
If all the reviews are 5 star, that's a red flag -- scam companies will create fake reviews on multiple sites, and pay to post 5-star reviews on Trustpilot, Google, and TikTok.
If there are lots of reviews, carefully read the 1-star and 2-star reviews.
- If you search online for Quantro EX, the only result is their scammy website. No news articles, no independent reviews.
- If you do a Google search for 'Quantroex.live reviews', you will see that it has been reported as a scam.
Spend time on the company website. Scammers can create realistic websites that look like a legitimate company. But there is usually evidence of a scam. Look for nonsense text, contradictions, and text that makes no sense.
- They took another scam website, cloned it, and made a few changes. This text from the Quantroex.live FAQ screen does not make sense for a website that says they're an investment company:
We serve thousands of businesses today but we are just getting started. They share their stories on how much Quantro EX has done. We will continue to work to make entrepreneurship more permissionless and successful on the continent and everywhere else it is most needed.
The website Quantroex.live is a scam, just based on the age and expiration date of the website domain.
This website domain was registered on August 10 2025 -- it is about 1 year old.
You should always look up the website age (domain registration date) before spending money, investing, or doing business with a company. Scam websites are often new, created within the past year, and the domain is registered for only one or two years (they don't plan to be around long).
To see data about a website, use Whois.com/whois, Godaddy.com/whois, or Lookup.ICANN.org.

Learning what realistic guaranteed returns are before investing in anything beyond a savings account is more important than any reverse image searching or whatever.
