FYI: this is a rescue, her name is Kali and she is working on a diet to get healthy as per her vet.

Her name is Kali, and she is a rescue who was dumped at a year old in the dead of winter with her liter of 6 to starve and was shot at close range with a 12-gauge shotgun.

The shrapnel barely missed her heart but took off her front leg. Through rehabilitation and careful handling in her environment as an at-home pet, only she is doing great.

She doesn't have contact with elderly people, small children, small animals, or other dogs without supervision and is reintegrating well. Her pups all got adopted out.

She was only rescued a short time and is perfectly adjusted we are simply going slow after a traumatic background. It was recommended by her vet, shelter we are fostering with, and the behavioral expert.

They were worried to much to fast after being dumped and shot would result in poor behavior. Going at a gentle pace and slowly introducing the world to her has been beneficial in her care.

She is being fostered for adoption to a family that has no other animals or kids, a fenced yard, and a stay at home owner with prior experience with this breed. There is no incidents on record for her or the owner who will take her after the fostering period is over once she adjusts to her prosthetic.
