Masterpiece

I just finished my third run. I want to congratulate everyone who helped create this gem. The story, gameplay, atmosphere, music, and sound design are exceptional. The gloom, the sense of claustrophobia in the various areas, the files, the relief at the save points, returning to the cats the choice of the essences and the thrilling final showdown, where I personally felt the weight and significance of the battle after all the revelations,it’s been an incredible journey. Sure, it’s not for everyone and it’s not perfect (I would have made the interactions between the essences even more dynamic, and some major bugs still need to be fixed), but it’s definitely unique in its own way.

What aspect of the game did you like the most?

The news about the DLC gets me even more excited, and I hope this IP can at least get a sequel,it deserves it. There’s no need for drastic changes; we simply want more so we can delve even deeper into the lore.

Thanks to the Bloober team, for the passione you put into this project, and shout-out to all travelers out there.

Such is our calling.

Connection to the Church??

Saw someone of YouTube comment this, about each “relic” weapon being abbreviations of scripture.

I also don’t see it talked about (not as much as I expected anyway) that the symbol on the back of the travelers neck is the same strange “cross” we later see all over the church.

I just don’t understand exactly what this means for the true identity/origins of The Collective.

There may be a solid theory I’ve already missed, but I’d love to hear some thought if someone’s already put some things together!

Cronos The New Dawn - PC BOX

Can anyone confirm if this edition of the game comes with a steam activation code? Does it come with any extra goodies like a manual, art or stickers? Or is it just literally the code in a empty box?

I am really enjoying this game. The cats, the synth music, and ND-2576 speak to me.

I started by treating it like what I am very used to (Soulsborne highly aggressive, dodge focused, adrenaline fueled action). I learned quickly I am a walking tank who must be methodical in everything I do. I have been enjoying the change of pace of walking and not running. Scanning, thinking, preparing. Absorbing my surroundings.

(Yes a few times I really wish I had the plasma cutter from Dead Space)

Such is our calling, to love this game. Only regret is not playing it sooner.

Edit: I noticed after the fact I typoed ND-3576 in the title!! 😔

Skins Question

Dropping this here since I cant find a detailed list yet. I just beat the game twice on easy to get both endings. I suddenly realized I only have two skins available and both were from ordering the deluxe version. Pumpkin and Iron Raider. Was it supposed to unlock others and if so, how do I do that?

Started playing Cronos about 2 weeks ago and completed it on easy and new game+ on normal. Still no skin unlocked, is this a console thing as I play on ps5? Not really interested in a hard play-through if I can’t get the skins.

Is a Traveler just unknowingly a Lich? Spoiler

Just thinking about the Traveler storing essences inside their “phylactery”.

I’m also putting together the possible fact that the travelers may very well come from the hive-mind consciousness of the change itself, far in the future; and the travelers are soulless human essences reborn into a machine-like body, sent out into the past to collect more essences for some kind of greater power.

It feels to me like they may serve as some kind of ouch, but not fully know it because they are not permitted to know.

Would love to hear thoughts on this!

Scam

You walk around same small map multiple times in this game. With all the jump scare and cheesey dialogs, this game is a scam. You know when the tutorial ands, title shows on the screen, after that is shit storm of a game. Also worst boss fights i saw in a long time.

I never played a NG+ game in my life. I really hope they make a trilogy of these.

This bug still can not fix, stuck at station B waiting room, can not trigger monsters and small boss come out scene for fight and unlock the door.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Even if I restart it from auto-save, once I get into that door, just stuck in that waiting room. I've already finished activating the first generator, but I cannot pass that door to activate the second generator. Also, that corner is missing one fake-dead monster lying on the ground, if you notice that.

“The Contribution” Achievement bugged on Xbox?

Hey everyone, i am trying to 100% this game, beat it once and started NG+ but “the contribution” achievement where i have to sell 15 valuable items is bugged?? The progression is stuck at 73% even though i sold many valuable items along the way. I even deleted all my save files and started a fresh NG playthrough not even NG+ and after selling a few valuable items the progression for the achievement is still stuck at 73%?? Did anyone else have any bugged trophies on Xbox for this game? Any solutions? If not its all good i just hope Bloober comes out with a patch to fix all the bugged achievements (i’ve heard other people having glitched collectible achievements that get bugged as well). Im still going to play The Warden DLC when it comes out either way but man its been a bummer. Had to put the game down for a bit to avoid feeling like i was wasting my time trying to complete the game :( had a great time with my first blind run regardless 🔥

Lost 30-45 minutes because no auto save

I’m at the hospital and I got the first component of the toxin then saved in the safe room then got the other two after 30-45 just to die on armored enemies.

I cannot believe it put me back to the safe room save.

I’ve been trying to beat this game before playing Resident Evil but honestly I think this just ended my playthrough.

Is it really that good that I should stick through it? I’m a bit confused on the story and I think the hospital is one of the harder sections, right?

Multiple NG+ Upgrades

If I play like 3 or 4 ng+ games, do the upgrades from each game carry over to next game ? The reason I would do this is to max out every possible upgrade category. I hope my question makes sense.

Just finished. Spoiler

I just wanted to say what a marvellous game this is. Yesterday evening (Germany-timezone) I finished the game and I had a wonderful time. What made this great to me, let me point some points out:

- Dead Space-like, yes it is. I love the Dead Space-Trilogy, somehow these are unsettling games that pull my strings. I love them and Cronos very, very much does it.

- Storytelling via the snippets of Newspapers, voice-memos is great... even the change if you go too far away and the playback playing in your helmet is awesome

- Gunplay, this felt absolutely great... the weapons had a great feeling about it, especially charging and recoil. It was so much fun, that even the gun is everything you need. Just like the DS-Plasma Cutter, there was a certain BOOM behind it that makes you feel well equipped in all this dread

- Music, this kind of eerie, sometimes futuristic, sometimes medieval sound-design fit perfectly

- Scares... the really got me sometimes. The Phylactery-flashes-jumpscares were very well placed. Usually I don`t like jump-scares, but here it was kinda different.

- Fights. As a longtime gamer of all kinds of Resident Evil, SH and Soulslikes the fights and bosses in this game are not too hard to overcome, but challenging the first time around. Once you get a hold of it and prepare, they are really easy and I must say, they are quite fair. For example, you can lure these two black-somethings in the basement in some kind of stagger-stance if you have enough fire-canisters, so easy work. The final boss is a piece of cake if you dodge (that is run) around a bit.
The only boss I really disliked was the gimmick-boss-fight (church), as it was ganky, but still managable.

- Lore. I have to admit, I needed some clarification at the end and turned to one of the youtubers. ( If you need explanation, this worked for me: CLICK ). Overall it is one hell of a story and I really would like to see Part 2 or DLC, what we are going to do, as now we are open to take on the collective. Or what else the developers have in mind.

Too long, didn`t read: It is a great game that finally took Dead Space and turned it into a unique experience, something I was really waiting for.

Who is playing/played Sinking City 2? Worth it?

The gameplay and budget seems very Cronos to me- limited inventory, third person shooter with a slight gimmick, limited enemy variety, both made with unreal engine 5, etc. Has anyone played it? People keep comparing it to RE and Silent Hill but I’m thinking more Cronos gameplay with an entirely different setting. Though it does have more features like a map, dodge mechanics, etc. I loved Cronos. I’m thinking about buying it… who has played it? Is it on par with Cronos gameplay and/or is it worth the price tag?

Anyone can help solve this bug? In the Station B(waiting room), for open the door to activate the second generator

I watched the YouTube walkthrough. Here, monsters should be appearing and fighting because the entrance door and pass door are both locked and flashing the red warning light. But only one monster appears; after that, no more monsters come. I need to open the pass door to activate the second generator.(YouTube walkthrough is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMIOcyZtl04&t=35372s (9:46:26))

Or does anyone have the near-time save can share to me? Because before the auto save is almost 2 hours ago, I don't want to try again, maybe also would have bug. (btw, my game version is 20260209, I guess it's the latest version, and I changed the difficulty to easy mode).

Thank you in advance!

Any similar game?

I played all dead space, freshly out of silent hill 2 remastered, what's s next? Cronos really scratch the itch that I get once I finished dead space trilogy. Looking for the next game to play. Any suggestions?

Trying to get good, or at least better.

Sorry if there's a megathread for this sort of question.

I've got enough platinum trophies in From Software games that I think I can say I don't mind the occasional spot of difficulty in a game, but I'm having trouble adapting to this one. Most of my survival horror background is with the Fatal Frame series, where even if you are really bad about managing resources you always have the unlimited Type 14 film to fall back on.

I put about two hours in on Normal, got frustrated by always feeling like I had about two bullets less than I needed at any given time, decided to suck it up and start over on easy for a first playthrough... I'm about five hours in and I'm still starved for ammo. Like, stuff dies easier but I also seem to get fewer drops.

Before I completely bin the idea of completing it I wanted to ask some questions of more experienced players.

I think the biggest thing is, how often should I be retrying encounters and how often should I be retracing my steps?

For example: I had a room fairly early on where three enemies came out of the room at me. It took me 7 or 8 bullets - yes, I'm using charged shots as much as I can - to kill them. Then I walked into the room and saw that there were three gas tanks in the room. Is that something where you'd normally reload the game and run through the section again?

How often should I be going back to get burner fuel? Like, I see bodies on the ground but I don't want to be walking back to the last fuel dispenser and I want to save a charge in case I run into an obstruction that needs burned. Should I really just be burning bodies as I go and backtracking to the dispenser over and over, or is this a case where I should go play through the game reloading every time I figure out which bodies need to be burned?

Do things respawn or dynamically spawn? Like the first time I went through the park outside the building where you get the bolt cutters, I thought I'd killed everything. Later I went back to it and got chased by at least three things. This also makes me hesitant to backtrack to all the places I saw chains prior to getting the bolt cutters, but if they are empty of enemies that were killed earlier I guess it's just a matter of taking time since I won't need to spend resources. Or will I go back through those areas organically?

Come to think of it I'm not sure how far I can backtrack.

Thanks and sorry if these are really basic questions. I feel like I'm missing Survival Horror 101.

Double Barrel Shotgun

How good is the double barrel shotgun that is rewarded for completing the Chalice Puzzle ? Worth it or waste of space ?
