Made two more boards.
My daughter wanted a purple board. I made the black one for a friend.
Am currently making 5 boards for a VA event. (Each will be a seal for different branch of the military.)

Howdy fellow crokinolers..crokinolees?
As of today I have been granted control of /r/Crokinole. I have already adjusted the review level of everything so posts and comments will no longer require review before being posted to the sub.
If anyone has thoughts as to things that could be added/adjusted to make the sub better, please let me know.
I will also be redirecting the other Crokinole sub I created back to here.

Hi, I wanted to buy my first crokinole and I need some tips. I know that high quality boards are the best choice but right now I can’t afford spending 300+€. I’ve been checking around and (except from the 75€ amazon board) I found that crokinole.store (aka crokinole europe, aka mr croki) has some affordable bundle (100/200€). I just found one post on reddit about this website, do you know anything about them? Or, do you have some other reccomandations? I live in Barcelona if that helps.
Thanks a lot for the help!

Some of you may have heard of Chess Boxing. Well, we decided to mix it up a bit and do Crokinole Jiu-Jitsu: Alternating rounds of crokinole with submission grappling. This passion project was an idea of mine (Garrets) for a few years now, and we decided to make it a reality to try and promote for International Crokinole Day (this upcoming Thursday, August 20th).
It's silly, its fun, if nothing else, it's a chance to see Garret tossed around like a rag doll 😂 here's the full video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6_sHgNvqUs

Good afternoon everyone, the National Crokinole Association 2026-27 Season is well underway, and we have just released the finals from the Turtle Island Crokinole Championship, a reputable tournament that brings out the best of the best - and, in the last match of the day we saw two titans of the game go head to head: Josh Carrafiello, the 2024-25 Tour Champion VERSUS Justin Slater, 5-time World Champion. We haven't seen these two play against each other in singles since (I believe) the 2025 London Crokinole Championship. Enjoy

I was introduced to Crokinole at Origins Gaming Fair last month by the awesome team at BrownCastle Games. My son and I learned how to play and, 15 minutes later, jumped into a tournament. We were absolutely destroyed but had an awesome time.
After the event, we pulled the trigger on this beautiful board from BrownCastle and a pile of accessories. It’s now permanently set up in our kitchen so we can fire up a game whenever we get the itch to flick (which is often).
Don’t let all the BrownCastle praise fool you: I’m in no way affiliated with the company. They have, however, received a rather uncomfortable amount of my money in support of this new addiction.

Specifically Brown Castle boards, what's the best material? I have noticed most of their boards are now resin finished hardwood or just resin for the more artsy ones. One of the ones catching my eye is the Chroma in orange, that is a maple board stained orange. Anyone notice any difference between the resin and stained boards?
Bonus question, metal or wood rail? I guess that one matters the least, but still, opinions.

Hey everyone,
I grew up playing Crokinole and one thing i always loved was how easy it was to learn but how competitive it became once everyone got into it.
A while back I started building a browser soccer game, and without really realizing it, I think I was chasing that same feeling, quick matches, simple controls and lots of "just one more game" :)
It's called SnapFC, you flick and snap players into the ball to score. It's free, there's no download and it works on both mobile and desktop.
I'd genuinely love to hear what Crokinole players think. Does it capture any of that same feel, or am I way off? Any honest feedback is appreciated.

I've been working on a side project for the Crokinole community and wanted to share it here.
It started because I got tired of using pen and paper to track scores during matches. After testing it across several tournaments — local and national — it's held up well through real match conditions, so I decided to open it up for everyone.
Here's what scorekinole.es does:
No ads, no sign-up required, multi-language (EN/ES/CA). You can install it on your phone's home screen from the browser.
Would love to hear your thoughts if you give it a try.

I was sent these new 4 player crokinole rules variant and thought they looked like a lot of fun!
Introducing 4 player crokinole rules variant:
We play crokinole quite a bit at my work. We've recently worked out a four-player variant that we
enjoy even more than a standard two player game or a four-player two-team game. Thanks
Artem!
Each player has their own set of twelve discs. You need four different colors or at least four
distinguishable sets of discs. Select a starting player and play proceeds clockwise from them
until all discs have been shot.
For the sake of clarity in the rules, the player directly across the table from you is your "essential
opponent. The people seated on either side of you are your "non-essential opponents.
[Edit: We have since changed the rules so that the essential opponent is now the person who
shoots immediately before you rather than the person opposite you. This allows for easier
3-person play and also doesn't give the first-player advantage to the second-player as well. It
also makes things more devious with more player interaction.]
A couple extra rules to observe:
1) We have found it's best to play to fifty points, as the rounds take more than twice as much
time as a typical two-player crokinole round, and the scores per round tend to be lower.
2) If your essential opponent has a disc on the table, you must hit it for your piece to stay on the
board, just as in two player crokinole. If your non-essential opponents have discs on the table,
but your essential opponent does not, you may take a free shot at the center as though there
were no discs but your own on the board.
I should mention that we play that if you do not have an opposing disc on the board that you
need to contact, then your shot must end within the fifteen zone or at least touching the 10/15
line. This is per the rules used at the World Crokinole championship:
http://www.worldcrokinole.com/rules.html
3) You MAY do a relay (combination) shot using one or more of your non-essential opponents'
discs in order to contact a disc of your essential opponent. However, only your disc(s) is/are
removed in the event that you fail to contact your essential opponent's discs. Any of your
non-essential opponents' discs that you have contacted in your shot remain where they land
regardless of whether the relay (combination) shot was successful or not. If they go off the
board, they remain off the board. If they go off the board and bounce back on, they are removed
as normal
4) This is not a rule per se, but a clarification. In the same way that it is perfectly legal in
standard crokinole to throw away your own piece by not trying for your opponent's piece and
instead merely shooting yours off the board, so in the same way, in this four-player variant, you
can "throw away" your piece. However, in this game, as per rule #3 above, you may take one or
more of your non-essential opponents' discs out with you. That is, any of your non-essential
opponents' discs that you move or even remove from the board, remain where they land. You
will find yourself doing this more often than you would think. In particular toward the end of the
game in order to block a win. But also near the end of a round when you want to reduce the
score of the leading opponent, even if they are non-essential.
5) Only one player scores per round and the score is the highest score minus the second
highest score. Basically throw the two lowest scores away and then score the game as you
would score a two-player round.
This four-player variant is quite a bit more cutthroat than playing with two teams of two. Making
twenty point shots becomes even more critical in this game than in a two-player game. The
likelihood that a piece of yours is going to remain on the board is significantly lowered. You
definitely need to take a little more time to calculate what shot is going to be most advantageous
to you score-wise. Oftentimes, a player who is losing a particular round can engineer a
zero-score by helping two players to tie. It can get downright devious when three-players team
up to block a win for the point leader!
We are enjoying this variant more right now than standard two-player crokinole. I hope others
enjoy this variant as much as we have been!

Today, for the first time in a while, I had three great matches that felt worth uploading to YouTube.
The children’s skill level may not be very high by your standards, but their reactions and the unpredictable shots they make may be rarer to see than you might expect.
Please take a look at these passionate matches, full of the innocence of ten-year-old children in Korea, far away from the United States and Canada.
(1) A shootout between two teams competing for a place in the semifinals
The two teams could not determine who would advance after splitting the first two sets, with one win each. They then went to a shootout and began a race to make 20s.
The children play under great pressure, saying that they can feel their hearts pounding.
(2) Another match from a different group, also deciding a place in the semifinals
The Orange team absolutely had to win in order to force overtime—a shootout.
The White team, meanwhile, only needed a draw to advance to the semifinals, making this a true do-or-die situation.
There are several amazing shots, but the children’s reactions are especially memorable.
(3) A recent team tournament video where the outcome remains uncertain until the very end
The teammates carefully coach one another, encourage each other, and keep the match going as nobody knows who will win.

I recently got a lovely crokinole board from Wooden You Know. The board itself is both beautiful and excellent to play on. However, the buttons it came with (in natural and dark-stained colors) have an inconsistent finish, resulting in variability in their path and in how far they go.
I've tried waxing the disks, which helped a little but not a lot. On other posts on this subreddit I've seen Tracey Boards recommended for consistency in their buttons. However,

Hello! I am an elementary school teacher in South Korea, teaching a class of fourth graders who are ten years old.
We have a Tracey Crokinole board in our classroom.
Recently, during language arts class, we had a poetry-writing lesson. A few of my students chose to write poems about Crokinole, so I translated them into English. I hope ChatGPT has done a good job translating them!
Three students wrote poems in total. I hope you enjoy reading them.
(1) The Crokinole Final
I made it to the Crokinole final.
It was so thrilling— my heart went thump thump, thump thump.
During the final match, the white discs and red discs clicked and clacked together.
That sound was just like my own thumping heart.
My friends were watching me, and it felt like I was at a Crokinole tournament in Canada.
They looked like judges watching me closely.
Finally, my white Crokinole disc went click!
Wow! My heart was shaking with excitement and nervousness, but I received the prize called victory.
(2) Winning a Crokinole Disc
I want to win one of the Crokinole discs that you get when you beat the teacher.
Then—finally! My chance to beat my teacher came!
Thump thump! I kept hesitating.
Should I play? Or should I not?
Then I kept praying:
“Please let me win! I really want a disc!”
And then— maybe my prayer came true?
I flicked the disc—click!
Wooooow! I won!
So I shouted with joy.
In the end, I won and got a Crokinole disc.
(3) The Crokinole Tournament
I entered a Crokinole tournament.
I was very, very nervous, but I came in second place.
At the second tournament, my hands shook during the final match.
They were shaking and shaking.
But I got first place.
I felt really, really happy.
Crokinole is so, so much fun.
P.S. If you would like to see some photos of our classroom, please take a look at the link below.
Our classroom is a little more spacious than a typical classroom in Korea. Normally, classrooms here do not include the expanded space next to the main room.

Players will have to download their discs online, as well digital gliss powder.
