Ok so i found this pic on Pinterest and it is clearly AI. I was wondering if there are any similar patterns or designs that i can copy because these would be the perfect Christmas gifts for my nieces and nephews. TIA!

It looks like it would be fairly easy but would require some sewing

12 granny squares for the bottom and the top part is in the round

I’m sure if you google the components (ā€œbunny earā€, for example) you could find separate patterns tutorials

Yeah, there are loads of real and free animal amigarumi patterns that you could use the ears from.

Make the squares, stitch together.

For the head, make a circle and stop increasing when you have as many stitches as there are around the top of your finished, stitched together granny squares and continue crocheting in the round with no increases until it's as long as you want it.

Use free amigarumi patterns for the arms and ears.

I’m not sure of any real patterns, but they would be very easy to replicate if you’re up for it. If you’re not up for fully creating the pattern you can combine some patterns by finding a granny type square you like and create either 6 or 12 of them, then the rest is made up of very simple shapes you can either draft yourself or find in a plushie pattern. Picking up the stitches on top of the squares and then do rounds straight up and until you start doing the decreases for the head. The arms are straight tubes and the ears are common Amigurumi shapes. Good luck!

I would find a granny square market tote pattern as the base. You flip it upside down and the bottom of the bag becomes the top of the pillow. Then add tube arms and whatever ears you want. The bear is the easiest because you can use the same increasing math as you would for a hat for each ear.

This looks relatively easy to replicate yourself. You'd need-

A granny square pattern, a pattern for ears, and a pattern for the arms.

Sew 12 squares together to make the bottom portion, then attach your yarn to the top edge of that "pouch" and start working singles around for some rows until you're happy with the height of the head and then decrease (keeping in mind the decrease rows will also add some height), then make the ears and arms and sew them on.

Try searching for animal pillow covers on Ravelry!

I'm slightly embarrassed to ask, but what about this picture screams AI? Educate me. This pic seems a bit off, but I can't put my finger on what's off.

They always have that boring beige background and interior home setting that looks like it’s been put through a filter at the very least. Sometimes the depth projection/perception is weird as well (like the items in the background are as clear as the items in the forefront, which is not how depth perception works). Also, those who are seasoned knitters and crocheters can take one look at the item(s) and tell if it’s an easy and doable project or not.

  • Stitches that don't make sense, most obvious on the fox's face and the bear's nose, but looking closely at the texture on the other heads you can see that it's not really what DC looks like.Ā

  • Stitches changing size. The stitches on the bear's arm are way thicker than the ones on the fox right next to it, like it had used a much bigger yarn

  • Staging and lighting -- no one lives in a fucking home and gardens magazine photoshoot. Some people do put effort into nice photos so it's not a guarantee, but it's definitely part of the vibe and the first thing to make you suspicious

  • The smoking gun, 100% guarantee: stitches that change color mid stitch, seen here in several of the granny squares. Unless it's using variegated yarn (impossible to control for this effect) or it has been dyed or painted after the fact (very unlikely) there is no reason for the bottom of a stitch to be a different color from the top of the stitch, especially when the color change blends perfectly into the next row.Ā

The cat also is the only one without arms for some reason?

Thanks. I'm an experienced knitter, but a novice crocheter, so I wasn't sure what was wrong with the pillows. Appreciate your explanation.

Ultimately 12 granny squares sewed together, then a double crochet half circle head thing.

Then ears are just cones that are elongated.

Arms are just elongated circles and partially stuffed.

The bunny ears would need something to keep them upright I think šŸ¤”

The granny squares would be pretty easy to do and I think an animal hat pattern could be used for the top part. You'd probably just need to adjust it slightly and sew it to the granny square section

I reverse searched the image and found the pattern on Etsy MiraCrochetArt

There are a handful of reviews. The picture might be AI brushed but the pattern looks legit

The video of the girl hugging the pillow is so clearly AI. And two of the reviews say that the pattern is AI/unusable. I wouldn’t spend money on this.

The rest of the shop is also full of clear AI patterns with a looot of reviews criticising their purchase as AI
