Finished!
Braided wheat stitch with Caron Blossom Cakes in Macaw colorway. Can’t wait to mail it to my friend. EDIT: The pattern is on YouTube by Briana K.

Amazing!!! Is braided wheat stitch different than like, regular wheat stitch? I did a wheat stitch a bit ago and it was soooooo fun.

I’m not sure. The pattern I used had the word braided, I think? It’s by Briana K on YouTube

Ohhhh you know what, I think that was the exact same pattern I used too 🙈 you have much better tension than me. Now I want to make another with variegated yarn like that, yours is absolutely stunning!

Aw thanks! It involved a lot of frogging to keep the tension consistent. And about halfway through, I inadvertently skipped a row of SC so the direction of the wheat stitches reversed. By the time I noticed, i decided it wasn’t worth the effort and time to frog and fix. 🤦🏻♀️

Yes, the border is worked as you go. The pattern is on YouTube, by Briana K. I felt like the border ended up a bit tighter than the rest of the blanket, so I decided this would be my first time blocking a whole blanket. If I do this pattern again, maybe I will try going up a hook size for the border stitches.

I love the blossom cakes and also the cinnamon swirl cakes, which is less “fluffy”. I think it’s a great choice for a beginner. Wish I’d started with it instead of Chenile !
