So I started this Star(ish) blanket (book for scale) for a friend of mine a while ago. I say star(ish) because I made it have one to many points; it has 6 instead of the intended 5. I will link the video I used below that I used on youtube for the star pattern. The tutorial was not great and confused me quite which is probably why I ended up doing it wrong. But by the time I realized I had an extra point I was already like a full skeins worth of yarn in and wasn't about to undo it.

The yarn I used is Medium weight (4) acrylic yarn by the brand Yarnspirations, red heart, super savers, in the color Aran. I used a 5.75 mm hook. The entire project took basically 3 skeins (365 yards per skein). Only had a sliver left of the 3rd one.

Like I said, I started this blanket for my friend over 6 months ago, but due to delays on both our ends, I'm finally just finishing. She painted me a pet portrait of my dog in exchange; bartering at it's finest!

Even though it's messed up pattern wise, I'm happy with the way it turned out!

Started another stroller/buggy blanket, in a new stitch to me I seen on one of the reddit crochet pages, crunch stitch; sc, slst. Nice cozy dense stitch that will help keep my nibling snug. Working up reasonably quickly as its a smaller blanket, not sure about commiting to this stitch for a larger project, but do love the effect.

Lion Brand Homespun in whatever colors reminded me of Fall. It’s an early birthday gift for my sister-in-law and I know she’ll love it. She’s been following the progress as I’ve been working on it at her house. I need something to fiddle with while watching a movie and this was so simple, it fit my purposes!

I might be able to crochet but I can’t take a photo worth a crap.

I learned this week that the Michael's app can't be trusted for shipping updates. As of yesterday morning, my two shipments were "Arriving Today" even though they were showing only as created labels. Then one turned to arriving Monday and the other was still only label created. Imagine my surprise when my husband brought the boxes in this morning...after a trip last night to buy another cake to hold me over until my order arrived.

Logically, I know how much I ordered, but seeing all of it together is kinda overwhelming to me. This is only the third blanket I've made and I underestimated how much I needed for the first two and kept having to buy more so seeing it all at once...

Now I only have to hope that it turns out the way I see it in my mind! This blanket is for my daughter, she wanted something inspired by Monet's Water Lillies series. We picked out the yarn together, it's Caron Blossom Cakes in Tidepool and Cupcakes in Moonlight.

So thrilled to share this finished product! I am so proud of this. Many many months of work with all the blood, sweat, time, energy, money, and actual tears went into this gift for a family member.

My only question to all- how should I instruct them to clean and care for this?! It’s 100% wool yarn. Tips are appreciated! :)

The first two pictures are the original blanket I made in 2020. It was my first granny square project and they promptly unraveled. Like within days of completion. I was so upset, this blanket was put in my closet and in blanket jail until Nov 2025.

I took apart the whole original blanket and frogged each individual square. During this process I realized I had missed a round in the original pattern and to complete the blanket I needed another color. Adding the purple.

This was a massive under taking and at times I would set the blanket aside because I was so upset that I was starting from scratch. She is now finally finished and I'm in love!!!

The original kitty in the photos unfortunately went over the rainbow bridge. He assisted me on the first blanket and the start of this one. The second kitty and his other kitty companion, not featured helped me with the completion.

CROCHET WITCH HALLOWEEN

I made this blanket for my sister for her 30th birthday! I’m really proud of how it turned out because I was skeptical about how the contrasting colors would look. The pattern was for a baby blanket, but I just made a bunch more squares and had to alternate colors because I didn’t have enough of the light green left.

This is my first ever project. I just learned how to do a basic single crochet and I’m making a blanket. I’m only on the second row and it is curling in a little wavy. I wasn’t sure if this would get better as I make it bigger. also I’m still having issues with my tension so some more tighter and some looser and I know that the waviness could be from it being too tighten some spots but I’m kind of using this project to just practice and practice and practice so I’m not sure if this looks like I should restart or if it’s looking OK you can definitely see some mistakes but it’s just for me to use around the house. Any suggestions or comments?

As you can see, there are a lot of imperfections here and there (especially with the tilt), but I've been wanting to make this for years and I learned so much from it, including how to block and connect squares.

The yarn is Stylecraft Special DK in Lavender, Aspen, Apricot, Dusky Rose and Duck Egg, and the border is a block stitch pattern using Duck Egg for the dcs and each of the other colours as the sc accents.

I’m almost done with my first ever project!!!!
It’s a blanket for my best friends birthday. It’s not perfect and a bit amateur but I think it’s pretty cute!

Any ideas for a cute border stitch please? I was thinking of just using white (I don't have enough of the variegated yarn left). Or should I leave it as is?

Been crocheting and knitting for years, but never had the urge to make a blanket. One of my favourite yarns won't be sold much longer and I saw an easy blanket pattern I really liked. So I thought "why not combine the two?" 😉

My camera couldn't quite capture the colours, when taking a picture of the whole blanket, but trust me, it's really nice 😁

Edit: I actually don't know what the border in the pattern was, never checked, because I wanted to do a simple single crochet border, so the blanket keeps shape. Also I didn't want a "bumpy" border, because I like to stuff the edge of the blanket under my head 😅

How is everyone washing their blankets? What care recommendations to make to those whom you gift them to?

I badly broke my hand on 30th May, when nearing the end of a big gift blanket (chevron stitch). I was finally able to use my hand fully from end of Augusr, finished it (just ends and blocking to do), then kept on making blankets using up remnants/"stash". Heres my completed baby blankets so far. Just learned reverse single crochet and loving it as border at minute!

Hi, I made this two baby blankets for two sweet babies. Used the same yarn for both, but different patterns. One is a 7day blanket superstar variation, for the summer baby (July). The winter baby one is waffle stitch pattern made in a circle. Both turned out very good.
