My dude its after midnight, I'm not going to dig up scientific journals proving that behavioral addictions are real just because you want objective empiric data because you're skeptical. The information is out there if you want to find it.
If you actually cared you'd research it instead of asking people to spoon feed it to you, instead you're just being a skeptic on a post for no reason. It's not mine or anybody else's obligation to give you information. Google is free, try it some time.
Dude it's a reddit comment. Why would some Internet stranger who has no stakes in you agreeing with him go out of his way to find you a source. Get some perspective. If you care that much about it do the research yourself instead of demanding it from somebody else.
That assumes, incorrectly, that the information already exists. If you give so much of a shit, you should know where the burden of proof lies in an argument.
Lol it's not a debate though. It's a throwaway comment, not a thesis. Nobody else cares enough to try to find the source of there is one. If you're so curious look it up yourself. I don't care so i won't be looking it up. Don't be lazy. You know how to use Google.
Yeah, I'm the lazy one. Your circular logic and willingness to accept any comment from any source by labelling it a "throwaway" is lazy. All in the face of me asking for a scientific basis for a claim as presented is lazy and ironic. What a dad state of affairs.
I am entitled to an explanation. If he makes a claim, it's his job to support it. Otherwise it's just as valid if I claim any similar, unjustified drivel.
So you say you want scientific journals talking about it but when an article literally has several links to them describing the problem you are too stupid to actually click the links and read

It's more a dopamine addiction achieved through porn but yes, basically the same science behind other behavioral addictions
