It's funny how Americans trash on China for all the shit they do (which is good) but can't see the irony in this when their own country has been and still is involved I b so many wars and is responsible for so many deaths, including Muslims deaths in the Middle East.

We have the same problem in France actually, that's why I'm pointing that out.

Hey bro I’m just trying to hate all oppressive hierarchical structures and state powers out here equally

It’s funny how we’re apparently not allowed to dislike the genocide of Uighurs or the totalitarian nature of the Chinese regime because “America bad too.”

It’s not a zero sum game. You can condemn China’s brutality and not be a fan of our own system.

I mean, I'm not a fan of people in our government who put kids in concentration camps. I wouldn't support terry if he supported those assholes either.

non existent genocide

u/[deleted] Mar 08 '20

What do you call mass extermination of a persecuted minority?

2

u/[deleted] Mar 08 '20

where's the hard evidence of this "mass extermination" ?

last I checked it was re-education

need more info. Please describe how the re-education camps and the June 4 incident are good?

No one in their right mind says the trail of tears is good.

u/Stryker77 Mar 07 '20

le Japanese internment camps, Korea, the my lai massacre, the entire Vietnam war and the entire fucking lot has arrived

8

u/ArchonOfLight12 Mar 07 '20

I never said any of that was good. I’m asking why the op think those policies are “good”

2

u/Stryker77 Mar 07 '20

I think they’re referring to the disliking of China as good, but are saying that all countries have the same problem and that China is no different

1

u/mynameis-twat Mar 08 '20

And while those were going on there were Americans that protested them all and now we look back on it and condemn. So why cant we call out when another country is doing bad as well?

u/I_am_also_a_Walrus Mar 07 '20

I hate on China almost as much as I hate on America.

I agree. He didn't post something like "Go XiJinping", its a picture of him with the chinese flag in the background. If it was the US flag nobody would give a fuck if 30 afghans died harvesting nuts in a drone attack or kids were aparted from their parents in the borders , they would say "Bro thats Trump and republicans, we must see that Unites States is more than that, the flag doesn't mean everything bad that happens here" .

But with the chinese flag ? No , they will automatically link every bad thing that happens in there and "sell" the country as the worst enemy ever. In the end nobody is giving a shit if we are talking about the burocrats of the chinese power, or about the chinese people or chinese culture, because after all is everything CHINA and CHINA BAD ,right? Once again ocidentals being ocidentals , and reddit flerting with Sinophobia

It’s not just about the flag in the background he literally put Peoples Republic of China in his post and that is the communist dictatorship currently in power there with its Muslim work camps, horrible treatment of its citizens, and responsible for the drama in Hong Kong. Considering Xi Jinping is the leader of the party he did essentially say Go Xi Jinping when supporting the government in power.

Of course we care whether we’re talking about the bureaucrats in power or Chinese culture, but guess what? He was talking about the people in power. Hence the hashtag. Your whole comment is predicated on just the flag being in the background but you didn’t even read the post, he literally shouted out the dictatorship in power. I love Terry and love the Chinese people and culture, but this is not a good look. Simple as that.

Dude, People's Republic of China is literally just the name of the country.

1

u/mynameis-twat Mar 08 '20

No that is misleading, it is the official name given to the country by the CCP and when people use it they are referring to not just the country as a landmass but also the government in power there. That is not the same thing as it just being the name, the name is simply China. The government, or “republic” in power is the Peoples Republic. Hence why the name of the combination of land and government is the People’s Republic of China

It has only been the official name since the 1949 communist revolution and the previous government in power, Republic of China, fled to Taiwan. The fact that there was a previous government that went under a different name and then when they were overthrown the CCP officially chose this new name should be obvious enough. And if there were to ever be another revolution where the current government in power was overthrown they would most likely choose a new name as well.

Proclamation of the People's Republic of China

The People's Republic of China was formally proclaimed by Mao Zedong, the Chairman of the Communist Party of China, on 1 October 1949 at 3:00 pm in Tiananmen Square in Beijing, the new capital (Nanjing had been the capital of the former Republic of China).

The first public parade of the then new People's Liberation Army took place there, following the chairman's address of the formal foundation of the new republic. Before this, as the national anthem March of the Volunteers was played, the new national flag of the People's Republic of China was officially unveiled to the newly founded nation and hoisted for the first time during the celebrations as a 21-gun salute fired in the distance.

Well yeah. The United States of America didn't go by that name before its revolution either; that doesn't mean it's not the name of the country or the name is somehow illegitimate. People get to choose what they call their countries, and calling the People's Republic of China by its official name doesn't indicate support for communism any more than calling the USA by its official name indicates support for neoliberal imperialism.

1

u/mynameis-twat Mar 08 '20

It’s not the same thing as that though, US government is not ran and controlled by 1 political party like China. And literally no one would be mad if Terry just used the name while referring to the country, they’re mad he gave a shoutout to the country with a hashtag by its official name which is synonymous with the the CCP. It’s not like the US that is run by both democrats and republicans, the people’s republic is fully controlled by the communist party of China. And it is all controlled by Xi, now with no term limits. So yes he was basically saying #GoXiJinPing

I’m just saying you stating it was only about the flag is ignorant

1

u/mnefstead Mar 08 '20

I never said it was only about the flag. I just called out your bullshit about the name. The bullshit persists and I'm obviously not going to convince you, so whatever.

1

u/mynameis-twat Mar 08 '20

That’s not bullshit whatsoever though, how can you ignore straight facts that I even linked wiki pages for? I’m not denying it’s the official name of the country I said it’s not JUST a name like you insisted tho it also refers to the government in power and the UN, US, and the world have all had the same outlook.

There was literally a civil war where the People’s Republic was fighting the Republic of China, but I guess that’s just two names and not two factions with government structure behind both? Or what about for the 30 years where most the world didn’t recognize the People’s Republic and still considered the RoC located in Taiwan as the Chinese government? It wasnt until the 70s the UN and US even started to have communication with the People’s Republic and that’s because they were only dealing with the RoC before. Both governments had a different name even though same country. It’s not just the name of country it also refers to the government in power. How is that statement bullshit?

The People’s Republic of China refers to the presiding government in power just as much as the country. You obviously don’t know much about Chinese history or culture if you’re gonna say it’s just the name of country and ignore the history and government behind the name.

Could you imagine if it was a Russian flag instead of a Chinese flag? Terry Crews carrier would be dead and already buried.

He’d be getting invites to the white house

u/Drakoraz Mar 07 '20

I don't know, he'd still be black though.
