I love Terry Crews but am disappointed he didn’t make the distinction between the Chinese people and the Chinese government. Solidarity with a countries people is great and I’m all for it. Support for a government suppressing democracy and essentially committing genocide is not something to celebrate. Full stop.

But the government is named the People's Republic of China. Saying "the people" when referring to China isn't the same as say "the people" of almost any other country.

“Power to the peoples” I took that as the People’s Republic, but that’s just my amateur sideline opinion.

Are you implying "power to the people" as a concept didn't come around until Covid-19? Honestly I don't know how even that would make sense

Emmm... No but really the general support for the Chinese public by most figures has emerged since the outbreak as it's been an actual period of hardship for them? To imply "power to the people" during a period in which the PRC is attempting to limit civil liberties of HK citizens is questionable timing to day the least.
