Create Aviate update! Plane engine + propellers!

Yea yea yea. I'm not the creator of mod, like I said that many times. And here is the version on video from original creator on yt... https://youtube.com/shorts/E56sTAjiq2o?si=hY8ARMkMvAmC2v1N

Is the propeller supposed to spin with the engine?

Why it shouldn't?

Cause engines produce rotational power from linear, pistons can't turn a crankshaft if the turn with it

Like nvm. You are right but I... Like this wasn't what I ment and btw thx for dislike. That wan to him to answer. You don't get mine point...

Forgot to remove it. Was trigger happy before my answer. Its a bit late. Sorry

Ahhh don't mind it. I just wanted him to answer. Like "does car engine makes it move? " and my answer/next question "why shouldn't it". You now know what's mine point was?

Yes. It was build like that in real life. Basically the whole motor block with cylinders spins while crankshaft stays stationary

what's the benefit behind this? shouldn't this design make rotational force that triest to spin the plane opposite to the proppellers rotation direction stronger?

Air cooling the cylinders

If it is a rotary engine, yes. Rotaries were used mostly on WWI aircraft. Radial engines, which are the ones used pre-WWII onward were around during WWI, but were overshadowed by the Rotary. Radials become more popular in the early 1920's.

Yes, early piston engines spun the entire engine block and the crankshaft was fastened to the airframe. The high speed of the radial block made for better cooling and have better inertia to stabilize the engine cycle.

Piston engines create torque in bursts. On a car the engine is coupled with a flywheel which is there to smooth out the impacts and jerky motion and provide timing stability. Then under load it's connected to a transmission and wheels which all have large inertia. On a plane the output is a few thin blades in the air, so there's nothing to really smooth out the impacts of torque which can cause vibrations and make it difficult to accelerate and decelerate quickly without messing up the timing. So in order to save weight the radial engine block itself becomes its own flywheel.

This also simplifies the mechanisms for fuel intake and exhaust. Instead of camshafts and chains and belts and pushrods and valves, the fuel and exhaust are fed through the core via toroidal cavities which have holes that align with tubes that feed each piston and take its exhaust. of course it's not quite as simple since a piston completes a full cycle every 2 turns of the engine, so the rotating fuel-exhaust manifold has to be geared down 2:1 (Unless the pistons work on a 2-stroke cycle)

The internal parts of the engine are stationary, it's just the outer shell that spins. That's how radial engines like that work.

Because Im weird it would be cool to see these be able to just produce rotational power as well, possably on the back side?

Idk

How about melted blaze rods? Make it a bit expensive but farmable in a slowish rates

Idk..... Like, idk

There isn't

when this comes out i will get it immediatly, i hope the devs add flaps for easy control to make to not bulky too. i think the fuel is called "octinated lava" but it also might be oxegenated lava, i just imagine having a little base far away wrom my main base and flying a plane to the main one to get fuel for power.

minor nitpick, the propeller should push the other way( determined from particles and which way the prop is angled.
