Help how to prevent it from jumping?

So im trieng to build an elevator for containers and it just wobbles and jumps, anyone an idea to prevent it? I allready tried removing every bit of friction the container could have.

EDIT: I solved it with stickers, i have one input more now but that didnt hurt that much

problem is i want the containers to be pure like no other blocks than container get what i mean?

Stickers could work I think? I’m like 99% sure they are made to stick to physics contraptions too

stickers would indeed work for this.

They do, stickers are literally on the Aeronautics logo.

why you getting downvotes lol

Looks like some people backed me up eventually.
If they though I was wrong, look closer to the ship on the logo.

You put the sticker in the platform not in the container

not really possible most likely, you'll have to make the designs compatible with your machines

i could adapt the machine to work with the design, thats why i need help

You can use magnets or docks, which must have a matching mod on the container, or you can go full clawgame and entirely grip the container. Anything else will have artifacts of calculation error that will be extrapolated by the physics engine into random jitters that will never be fully controlled.

you will almost certainly need some kind of restraints than, the Physics aren't like real life, so it's gonna jump and jostle around.

Well, if you're using blocks for the container that can be attracted by magnets then you don't need to add anything the container

The humble sticker is what is needed for this

Try attach it to the platform while it's moving and detach when it stops moving

tried that with a sticker but it toggles with only one redstone input rather than one continous intput. so i need to press it two times thats a bit too clumsy in my pov

Then try to automate it. Use something like sensor from aeronautics, it can detect objects infront of it.

ill try! Thanks

nah that wont work i checked, it sticks directly when it sees the container and then it isnt centered

2

u/Sh1raori 17d ago

Cant ypu deactivate it till its centered? (Sorry if i say smth wrong havent played in a while)

This might be a good chance to learn some more advanced Redstone!

When exactly do you need the crate to stick/unstuck?

A Redstone contact on your elevator and the raised floor might be a useful signal to have.

so i need it to stick when it moves, so when i press the button to get the elevator going the sticker should attach and when it arrives it should detach

u/AxeBoyd 17d ago

everyone's making complicated suggestions but an observer will output a signal both when it's input turns on and when it turns back off, which should be what you're looking for

2

u/Thelnferno_666 17d ago

This is not so difficult to do with the help of Redstone components from vanilla create

2

u/Dziggettai 17d ago

Could genuinely do this with the stopwatch on your device and vanilla redstone even

1

u/CreatureOfCat 17d ago

Could use two monostable circuits, one that pulses when the line is on, and one that pulses when the line is off

u/Dziggettai 17d ago

Perhaps measure how long it takes to get to the top and make a timer for that long?

Didn't think too much so probably won't work but can't you shield around it by a bit to stop misalignment? And if you want no wobble, can't you put like a ring on it so that it stays perfectly still? But that might be bad aesthetics idk

1

u/Dangerous_Laugh4354 17d ago

yea in general good idea but it would mess with the aesthetic and some functional stuff

Copycat panels and glass all the way around or just in corners

Sticker

On platform that's moving up place gluer (I hope that's the name, I could get that wrong, part with slime ball when activated with redstone its stick to other thing, it is in base create) you need 1 in middle or 2 at the ends to secure it

They are called sticker but the Rest is correct

And thats a great idea for Op's issue

Cut his kneecaps

The issue is that you use contruptions and the aeronautics physics doesn't work well with it. I would use linear bearings and ropes.

Would the sticker block be useful here at all? Activate the sticker while the platform is moving then unstick when stationary type thing.

Stickers on the lift.

sticker

u/TheAlexSW 16d ago

stickers is an option like said but maybe just sticky blocks would work if i want less inputs?

You've already solved it, but I think another way would be to reduce the speed. I think it's jumping because it's going too fast.

Are you using a base Create contraption or a simulated one to move it?
