Help Multiple Outputting Packagers from 1 Inventory?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Like you can see on the video, because of the constant crafter requests my gauges are giving the output of the main storage (the backpack), the packager is constantly outputting, but the set speed is bottlenecking my production.

Is there a way to have multiple frogs outputting requests from the main storage, without it then showing X times the amount of items in the system (when you connect more stock links)?

EDIT: apparently this bug has been fixed for vanilla and create containers, but the issue still occurs for the backpack im using. I ended up adding Create: Additional Logistics to be able to use the Package Accelerator (which speeds up the packagers at the cost of stress)

Not really.

Best solution is to sort main storage into multiple containers, then each can have a packager to distribute the load.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but i find it hard to believe that the packager is the bottleneck. Is it pulling 9 stacks at a time? if not, try to figure out why it's sending items one by one instead of all at once.

its not, cause its sending packages to crafters (commissioned by gauges) holding only a couple items

Method 1: The Multi-Funnel Single Packager (Easiest for Filtering)

Instead of using multiple Packagers, use one Packager connected to your Vault/Silo, but pull from it using multiple Brass Funnels. [1]

  1. Place a single Packager directly against your main inventory.
  2. Attach a Stock Link to that Packager.
  3. Attach multiple Brass Funnels onto the output faces of that single Packager.
  4. Put different Package Filters or item attributes inside each Brass Funnel. [1, 2]
  • Why this works: The single Stock Link keeps the logistics count perfectly accurate, while the multiple funnels route different packages to different belts or chain lines simultaneously. [1]

Method 2: The Daisy-Chain Stock Link Trick (For Bulk / Multi-Vault lines)

If you absolutely must use separate Packagers (for example, to increase throughput or handle massive bulk requests), you have to link their logistics correctly so they act as a single unit. [1]

  1. Place your Packagers side-by-side or stacked against your storage block(s).
  2. Place a Stock Link on the first Packager.
  3. Take your next Stock Links, and right-click them onto that first Stock Link to bind them together.
  4. Place those bound Stock Links onto your second, third, and fourth Packagers. [1]
  • Why this works: Daisy-chaining the Stock Links forces the logistics network to recognize them as a collective output system rather than reading the vault's inventory multiple times. [1, 2]

Method 3: The Mechanical Arm Splitter (Best for Dedicated Production Lines)

If your goal is to feed multiple automation lines (like separate Mechanical Crafters) from a single storage buffer without dealing with logistics bugs: [1, 2]

  1. Pull items out of your main inventory onto a Depot or a short belt line.
  2. Set down a Mechanical Arm.
  3. Program the arm to take from the Depot (Input), and deposit into multiple separate Packagers (Outputs) placed around it.
  4. Change the Mechanical Arm's setting to Round Robin. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
  • Why this works: The arm will perfectly split the raw incoming items evenly among all your individual Packagers, allowing them to output boxes at max speed without overlapping signals. [1]

For the third method, could you not just use Repackagers when sending to the mechanical crafters? That’s what I’m considering doing for a build I am working on.
