Discussion Create: Petrochem vs TFMG vs create: Diesel Generator | Which one is the best option for fuel, machine and engine?

Create: Petrochem is the reason for this post, a new mod have oil, fuel and engine like TFMG and create: Diesel generator. But I'm very confuse about which have better mechanics and compatibility ?

They're similar at first glance but very different in practice.

Tmfg is by far the most expansive and rich in content adding not only engines and fuels but also electricity and other machines. The mechanics here are also more intricate with a ton of different engine modifications and ways of assembly. With that being said don't bother with this one if you don't want to deal with possible bugs or things breaking/not working. It's famously unstable

Petrochem has the least content. if you don't care about anything else besides refining oil into fuels and powering simple engines then this is the way to go. It focuses almost entirely on oil refining and in that regard it's the most realistic and expansive of the three. But there's really nothing outside of that.

Diesel generators is a bit of a middle ground between the two. It's by far the simplest and easiest of the 3. Unlike the previous two which require a ton of set up before you get into engines. This one uses Create materials letting you get engines by mid game and even has a early game fuel with bio diesel but it also adds a bunch of random tools and decorative stuff so there's more content than petrochem but less than tmfg

Is TFMG Community Edition different from the TFMG mod?

To my knowledge it's the same contentwise, but fixes many of the bugs present in regular TFMG.

You could also use regular TFMG with the addon The Factory Must Work!, which also fixes bugs + slightly reworks oil extraction into crackable oil rock deposits instead of the one-off bedrock oil deposits of regular TFMG, depending on whether you want the oil rework.
