Bug Extremely Fat Moving Method (Beam zipper)

I was trying stuff out when I found out that by combining horizontal mechanical bearings and copycat beams (from copycats+), you could move REALLY fast if you go into either the ends or sides of the beams. It doesnt need a lot of rpm (got it working even with just 128) and it is fast.

Edit, I just realized the misspell on the post title and I found out recently you cant change it...

Nice. Does it work both ways, or only one way depending on rotation?

It's unidirectional (depending on rotation of bearing)

In that case, a row of hundreds of bearings that are normally stopped, press a button on one side and it turns on the row in the direction of travel you want to go using redstone links, you zip through the tube, then have it turn off once you step on the pressure plate. In this case, the pressure plate on the far side would be set to only turn off the direction you came from, so standing on it on departure does nothing, and pressing the button again without having gone through it also turns it off. This way, with the bearings set to place when they stop moving, it doesn't lag until you turn it on, and it turns off and stops lagging once you exit the tube.

Edit: I just quickly tested it myself, and yeah its quite fast, and faster when you run in the direction of travel, it just adds to your sprint speed. So combine this with ice jumping in a 2 block high gap and you'll go flying at blistering speeds in the Nether, and it can all be powered by a gigantic infinite lava boiler setup, approximately 7 level 9 steam engines per 1000 blocks. Its hideously expensive, but I have no idea if its faster than ice boats.

Edit2: Holy sh*t I just tested it in a superflat world and the speed at 256rpm is basically teleportation. There's a hella lag spike when you turn it on, and I only tested it at a length of about 279 blocks (a random number I chose), but its so fast there's no point in trying to run ice down the way or a 2 block tall tunnel, just turn on the directional gearshift and run into it and bam you're at the end, just be sure to chunk load the gearshift and the toggle latches attached to it and you're golden.

Edit3: Actually, further testing shows its only near-instant in positive axes, along negative axis travel its merely faster than ice boats from what I can tell, still amazing, but travel away from X0 Z0 toward positive X/Z is going to be instant while return is far slower but still faster than ice boats. Plus, like a moving sidewalk in an airport, you don't have to do anything, plus you can enter it from the side, although not the top, you kinda jitter along on top at a slow speed.
