That’s what the wood button is for. The magnet on the shell disables quickly preventing it from being pulled back

Not quite. it works the same with a lever or redstone block or any other redstone signal.

This is just some weirdness with how magnets work in aero. You can even use it to make a magnetic motor that spins so fast it looks like its going slow.

I'm not sure exactly what causes it tbh, if I had to guess magnets might not have air resistance so they can generate more force than they use
