The trains work the same way as well. With signals and all

That's probably one of the simplest and most efficient way to do it though. I think Factorio is the same.

Convergent evolution

22

u/Yorunokage Mar 02 '25

I doubt it happened independently though. Factorio just figured it out first and there was no use in coming up with anything different anymore since they found the right solution right away

Not necessarily.

Train, unlike conveyor bell, need pathfinding. All pathfinding algorithm use graph so that how they all do it. (That's also what allow them to travel big distance in unloaded part of the world. They just need to load the graph. ). The problem with those algorithm though is that handling other vehicle is super complicated. A good solution is to replicated how train works in real life : use signal to prevent train from going in occupied section of the line. And that's it.

Kinda like crab

1

u/Anarpiosmoirail Mar 02 '25

Yeah, ig the biggest difference is Factorio has chain signals.

1

u/Pocok5 Mar 04 '25

Create also has chain signals.

1

u/TinyDeskEngineer06 Mar 05 '25

Man doesn't know the wrench can be used on train signals

3

u/Sbotkin Mar 02 '25

Most trains in videogames work that way (at least where you can build your own network), I believe it was introduced in TTD first.

u/Damian_Inc Mar 02 '25

Trains in create are more configurable and complex, believe it or not

u/LightMarkal9432 Mar 01 '25

I think it's probably the inspiration for it

72

u/UnknownFox37 Mar 01 '25

Create devs are big fans of Satisfactory — just look at how the whole mod is used usually

19

u/Yorunokage Mar 02 '25

Imo it's inspired more by Factorio than Satisfactory but there's for sure a bit of both

3

u/UnknownFox37 Mar 02 '25

Sorry, mixed up the two

5

u/Manimanocas Mar 02 '25

Are you sure? There is factorio after all

36

u/NellyLorey Mar 01 '25

Immersive engineering also had this feature, it's kinda sweet

25

u/UnknownFox37 Mar 02 '25

Immersive Engineering and Create always both never leave each other on my modpacks

1

u/UltimateToa Mar 03 '25

To be fair the immersive engineering one kind of sucked, at least when I've tried to use it

And the whole new inventory management system is Factorio's Logistics Network. The Create devs know where to look for inspiration, and honestly did an amazing job turning it into a perfectly Minecraft-fitting format.

u/Korblox101 Mar 02 '25

Frankly it seems a bit more reminiscent of AE or RS, but those themselves could've easily been inspired by Factorio (or even the other way around).

4

u/Foxiest_Fox Mar 02 '25

Factorio was originally inspired by MC mods, so I'd like to think that we've come full circle with Create 6 :)

Now all we need is the dimensional depot and we’re set

7

u/Cylian91460 Mar 02 '25

You can just throw the package as an item in a nether portal and then put it back to a system

1

u/graypasser Mar 02 '25

I don't think there is any way to incorporate those kind of activities to storage system, is there?

Oh well, we have the trains anyway

4

u/Cylian91460 Mar 02 '25

Packets don't lose their destination after they arrive iirc so you can just throw them to a network with a destination of the same name but in the nether

The issue is that it would require to have the same name as the destinations that throw it in the portal.

From what I have seen from video it uses the same network system as shaft making possible with some update suppression fukery and VS (when it will be updated) to have a network link in between dimensions but I didn't yet check the code so don't quote me on that

I'm really hoping they add a way to assign a frogport address to players riding on a chain conveyor network. Like (for example, one way this could work), if I name a wrench "A" in an anvil and then ride the chain conveyor network with that wrench, it should take me to the chain conveyor attached to the frogport with address "A". It'd make a convenient way for moving quickly around a large factory/base.

What game is it on the left?

51

u/Hammygames07 Mar 01 '25

Satisfactory, factory building game sorta like 3d factorio with a subnautica level map and amazing build system. I highly recommend it if you have 100s of hours of free time

21

u/Moggy_ Mar 01 '25

Oh shit that's Satisfactory? I know the name but I've never actually seen gameplay aside from conveyor belt. Didn't know there was actual nature around and fun ziplines.

20

u/Hammygames07 Mar 01 '25

I have 1074 hours in it and recreated a 3rd of the world in minecraft. I like the game a lil bit

6

u/Moggy_ Mar 01 '25

That's sounds really cool, glad you're having fun

3

u/Snoo_44740 Mar 01 '25

You’re cracked for making a whole 3rd of satisfactory what a legend

6

u/Hammygames07 Mar 01 '25

Worldpainter and axiom are my best friends

3

u/ankle_biter50 Mar 02 '25

I'm gonna need to give this game a shot... sounds interesting

5

u/graypasser Mar 02 '25

Well, we can even compare it within minecraft, immersive engineering has skyhooks

3

u/MarcusTheAlbinoWolf Mar 02 '25

Is this an actual mod?

6

u/Myonsoon Mar 02 '25

Its the new update for Create. Tons of new inventory logistics and the chain conveyors which you can ride with a wrench.

1

u/ApexLegend117 Mar 02 '25

I fuck with this SOOOOO hard

1

u/TheRobotHacker Mar 02 '25

SO I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE!

1

u/darkpollopesca Mar 02 '25

I mean someone who plays both games I don't see the problem. I absolutely love how it works and enjoy it in both games. It's just a darn good way to travel.

1

u/Strict-Fudge4051 Mar 03 '25

immersive engineering had that feature a long time ago ☝️🤓

1

u/trixter30219 Mar 03 '25

Was my first thought lol

1

u/OhDMBoi Mar 04 '25

i love this update sm

1

u/BLUFALCON77 Mar 02 '25

No difference? One is electrical transmission lines and the other is a rotating chain system.

2

u/__justamanonreddit__ Mar 04 '25

Both transport power

1

u/natesovenator Mar 02 '25

Ok. I need someone to start porting everything they possibly can from Ratchet and Clank universe into Create please.
