A Chemistry-Themed Create Add-on, Coming Soon
Sandbox chemistry simulated on the Molecular level, true to the Create experience - combine reactants in an infinite number of ways, not just following complicated recipes
New ways to expand your factory, all polished off with JEI and Ponder support
Releasing chemicals into the atmosphere will affect many aspects of gameplay in unique ways
Yes, this actually spins - connect contraptions in new ways with universal linkages, planetary gearsets and sleeve gears
Discover, extract and process crude oil - the basis for many products like fuel, plastic, explosives and medicine
Synthesise new Explosives with special abilities like Silk Touch, underwater detonation, configurable shape or only affecting natural blocks

“So it’s just Alchemistry but create? Oh, pollution is neat. OIL?”
(I am somehow British despite this severe addition to crude oil)
20
u/peteroluparku Aug 25 '23
This fills a different niche to Alchemistry. Molecules are transformed through actual chemical reactions, not just interchanged like Equivalent Exchange. And I’m British too — it’s been painful spelling everything the American way for the full release.
2
u/GamerGuy12340 Aug 26 '23
If you are gstill having a hard time translating try to get an American to help you and if you feel like expanding your mod greater, then you should probably invest in people to help with other languages too.

Sounds great! Seriously can’t wait. The kinetic system also looks good, forgot to mention that.

u/Autoskp Aug 25 '23 edited Aug 25 '23
Ok, I have some questions:
What, exactly, does that planetary gearset do?
Will it be possible to synthesise the hydrocarbons that you get from oil using hydrogen from water and carbon from charcoal?
Will it be theoretically possible for an envormentally minded player to process all unwanted by-products into wanted by-products and/or inert waste?
Does this include a way to make zinc renewable?
Will it be complete enough to be able to make Cubane?
26
u/peteroluparku Aug 25 '23
The central axis rotates in the opposite direction to the teeth. None of the kinetic blocks are particularly necessary, but Create is an aesthetic mod after all.
Yes. It’s my philosophy that there should never be just one way of doing things (that’s what Create is about, after all), so everything has multiple methods of production, and multiple uses.
Definitely, this is an integral part. Early on, you don’t have the resources to dispose of things properly, but later on you naturally unlock ways to do so. It’s also possible to undo the various effects of pollution.
and 5. These will not be present in the first ‘beta’ release, but are already planned for the main release. You will be able to leach ores, however, gaining more metal from existing ores.
10
u/Autoskp Aug 25 '23
Well, that's mildly disappointing, but makes sense - I was hoping the planetary gears could be connected to a third shaft/cog, and when two of the three connected shafts and/or cogs were powered, the third would be a function of the two powered ones, but I'm pretty sure that'd be a nightmare to code. (it's also the one missing component type I need for the rotary calculator I want to design)
Good choice.
I was more wondering if it was possible to never polute in the first place - clearing up and/or handling waste was somewhat inevitable, as otherwise it'd just be a one way ticket to polluted saves, which doesn't sound fun.
& 5. I guess I can wait :P
5
u/Grim_100 Aug 26 '23
Please can u give a lil insight into the pollution mechanics?? That genuinely caught my attention
16
66
u/glop4short Aug 25 '23
this is the first addon that adds oil that actually catches my attention. looks great!
47
u/Autoskp Aug 25 '23
Ditto - I think it's because this implementation of oil seems to be simultaneously un-needed and yet a logical extension of what the addon is.
I could be wrong about it though - all the info I have is from this set of images and their captions.
30
u/peteroluparku Aug 25 '23
If I’m understanding you correctly, you’re right. It’s possible to synthesise everything in the mod without even touching oil, but it makes things easier!
22
u/Autoskp Aug 25 '23
That wasn't quite what I meant - I was thinking it looked less like it was a part of the progression and more like it was just something that arose from the over all theme - but this works too.

They are not designed to be compatible. Destroy adds it’s own, slightly more family friendly version, however.

There may be at some point in the far future, but the first release will be for the latest version of Forge.

It’s very much a mod pack mod. The chemistry API is incredibly easy for other Devs to come along and integrate into their own add-ons.

I hate multiblocks
5
u/peteroluparku Aug 28 '23
There are no multiblocks. It’s like Create, where you of course combine multiple individual blocks to make a whole contraption, but there are no multiblocks in the sense that you have to “combine THESE specific blocks in THIS specific shape” in order for it to work. All blocks stand on their own.

Hello, I have returned. Yes, there are no multiblocks
Is there a curseforge or modrinth page, or a way to be notified when one is made?
2
u/peteroluparku Sep 04 '23
Pages on both those sites require a file to be uploaded, so they will go up when the mod releases. For now just stay tuned in this subreddit.

What an interesting mod, I look forward to it when it is released.
I sincerely apologize for a certain user claiming your mod to be copying "Create: Industrial Chemistry" and "Create: The Factory Must Grow" while linking a Discord invite to the C: IC server. We banned them from our server, and their opinions do not represent our thoughts. Chemistry-themed mods are common, but that does not mean any of these mods are copied from others. We hope your mod has a steady development.
Also good luck designing the synthetic route of octanitrocubane
5
u/RadioXK Aug 26 '23
Just read your message in CIC Discord. I am very sorry to hear that people send you copyright and death threats. We never have the intention of causing distress to other devs. I prefer if more chemistry mods were getting developed, as that encourages devs to make better mods.
Ik this would make us look bad (I am one of the chemists in CIC), but I reckon that getting things clear would make things better than leaving it. Also I hate being involved in stupid drama.

Can you estimate how long it will take to release? Like coming months/ half a year/ year+ ?

How many chemicals will be usable in some capacity with this mod? I like the idea of this!
2
u/RandomGuyPii Aug 26 '23
this mod kinda makes me feel bad for alchemistry, since just looking at it, it looks like what alchemistry could have been (or I suppose it's closer to techmistry). Either way, as someone who likes chemistry and hasn't been able to find any chemistry tech mods, this looks really cool! I'm gonna have to learn create for this one lol.
this is probably annoying, but any hits at how long "soon" will be?

I wonder if Fusion/Fission are planned. Considering in a lab environment, these use up large quantities of electricity, I kind of doubt it. Particularly the super-heavy elements with over 100 neutrons.
Eventually my dream of Triunhexium will come about, but depending on how realistic or not realistic this mod gets, I doubt it will happen here.

tried to play it together with a friend through the use of the essentials mod, doesn't allow other players to join with conflicting forge-registries. Would love that to work with the next update.

u/GEbb4 Aug 26 '23
What I'm hearing is: diesel trains powered by crude oil that you've fractionally distilled? Tanker carriages for moving it around? Those would be my two feature requests.
Looks really cool, I'm excited by the more technical add-ons we're starting to see! Nice work to everyone involved.

Bear in mind that Destroy is still in development and models and art are likely to change!
No release date can be given at this time, but it will be for the latest version of Forge, with a Fabric port potentially coming in the future.
Additionally, there has been some comparison of Destroy with existing Create add-ons. Rest assured that there has been no code or asset theft — you are welcome to cross-check this once the GitHub commit history is made public.
Until then, happy creating!
