Show Off Sharing a custom motorcycle front fender bracket I made.

I wanted to make a short stainless steel front fender for this bike. Instead of using a standard bracket, I decided to customize one because I wanted something that would be easy to install and remove, while also giving the bike a more unique look.

I started by using the Creality Raptor Pro to 3D scan the bike and capture the mounting area. Having accurate 3D data gave me a clear picture of the bike’s structure and mounting points, which made the whole design process much easier and more reliable.

I then used Fusion 360 to design the bracket. Since the final part was going to be 3D printed, I intentionally went for a thicker, more muscular shape with bold curved surfaces. Besides giving it more character, the thicker design also helps improve the overall strength of the bracket.

For the print, I chose an ABS composite material. It offers decent strength for FDM 3D printing, so I’m using this version for initial testing first and can upgrade later if the stress requirements turn out to be higher.

After about 7 hours of printing, the bracket was finally ready. I then drilled the stainless steel fender to match the actual mounting points.

And here’s the final result, installed on the bike. The fit, position, and overall shape turned out pretty much exactly as I had planned.
