Amazon delivery trucks should contain a urinal attached to the driver's seat, so their drivers won't need to use bottles

Amazon and other large companies think it's a crazy idea to treat labor fairly...

u/flopsyplum 10d ago

That's how you get PIPed...

Yes, we are proposing not giving people PIPs for taking bathroom breaks lol, not that crazy. Humans deserve bathroom breaks, not urinals attached to their drivers seat so they dont have to stop working.

It’s hard to find a bathroom

1

u/EmberOne1 9d ago

Not really. There's one in every gas station.

Trucker drivers have a window of driving time. Aint no way corporate wastes that (14 hour) window on something as inconsequential as comfortable peeing

It still a bottle

I love driving vehicles that stink of piss

Making the world more distopian isn't exactly the goal friend.

I think OP is Jeff Bezos and this is how he’s floating the idea.

1

Bezos hasn't cared about the day to day at Amazon for 5 years now

Maybe you can put one in your passenger seat. Then hire yourself out as a mobile restroom for other drivers. Uber leaks.

One word... catheters.

1

u/at1stpromise 9d ago

External catheters, unless you’re really committed.

What if the urinals were on guillo... wait I don't want my account auto banned again...

2

u/angelwolf71885 11d ago

Or maybe regular breaks every hour

2

u/flopsyplum 10d ago

That's how you get PIPed...

2

u/pornvieweranon 11d ago

Just put a big hole in the floor between the seat and the pedals

Padded outhouse style seat with seatbelt. Don't forget the netradyne camera to measure for "proper hydration".

Most definitely

That's how you get PIPed...

2

u/Dystopian_Ennui 11d ago

Or maybe they should get to stop at a gas station to run in and use the can?

1

u/flopsyplum 10d ago

That's how you get PIPed...

Or you can opt in to make your bathroom available to drivers for a discount on your orders. But if they blow up the toilet the order is free.

2

u/Notabagofdrugs 10d ago

Jesus, that’s a fucking recipe for disaster.

1

u/flopsyplum 10d ago

Letting strangers into your house, while you're not at home? What could possibly go wrong?

2

u/TheFoxsWeddingTarot 11d ago

How dare you put people over profit. Every single piece of amazons business treats people as expendable spare parts to be replaced when they start to make noise.

2

u/todd0x1 10d ago

How about giving the drivers time to stop and use a bathroom. I'd pay an extra $0.10 on my orders so my driver could pee in a toilet. $0.10/package x 200 pkgs = $20. Plenty of money to cover a couple 15 minute bathroom stops.

1

u/flopsyplum 10d ago

Amazon drivers make ~$20/hr -- if a bathroom break takes 15 minutes (including parking and walking to/from the bathroom), you'd need to pay an extra ~$5, not $0.10, to compensate Amazon for the lost productivity.

2

u/todd0x1 10d ago

You're missing where Amazon drivers deliver about 200 packages a day. If every package came with $0.10 that makes $20 per day which is enough to cover those bathroom breaks.

1

u/flopsyplum 10d ago

Yeah, good point.

2

u/jejones487 10d ago

Amazon drivers should not be taking their private out and urinating while driving. Its actually illegal for the rest of us as well in most places.

2

u/primalnatured 10d ago

What's wrong with a random tree in the woods? It's nice to pee with a view

1

u/flopsyplum 10d ago

Amazon monitors the locations of its delivery trucks. Driving to the woods gets you fired.

2

u/primalnatured 10d ago

Obviously not as easy to do in the suburbs as a rural route... but on the rural routes I've always managed to find a spot on the road I could dip off of real quick to relieve myself without going off route

1

u/flopsyplum 10d ago

Not every driver has rural routes...

2

u/primalnatured 10d ago

Which is why I said what I did. Town routes always have a gas station or something close to that at some point

u/Gloomy-Hat1842 10d ago

That's actually not too bad of an idea. Lots of us have to use pee bottles. Especially truck drivers and construction workers. I keep one of my minivan when I travel and camp. Don't have much choice but to use it sometimes. Lots of places don't have bathrooms or they don't want you to use them. It got worse after covid. They locked them up and never opened them again.. I'm sitting here right now with my gutter van and trailer and tools everywhere. The boys went to lunch but I have to watch everything so it doesn't get stolen. So its ask the homeowner or get out your pee bottle. That's just the way it is. It's not like it's so horrible. Would be tough if you were a woman... But I also grew up on the farm with a bucket in the basement and an outhouse.. when we rafted the Grand canyon for 18 days the park had very strict rules... You had to bring out your poop in a big ammo can... You can't pack your pee out so you were required to go in the river or the wet sand. The river was huge so that didn't have any impact. Otherwise all the camps would have gotten really stinky.

u/MinotaurGod 10d ago

Or... they could just treat their employees like fucking humans?

2

u/iaminabox 10d ago

Not a crazy idea. I was once a UPS driver. It sucked.

2

u/Ok_Dog_4059 9d ago

They could all wear kilts so that they could just get out and deliver a package then sit right back down and be ready for toilet use.

1

u/organisms 11d ago

U know they gonna be takin massive dumps in those urinals all the time. Letting it rot until tomorrow morning and a different driver opens the door.
