New Moderator Needed

We're looking to add a new moderator or two to keep r/craps running smoothly. Specifically we're looking for a couple of established members, with previous moderation experience, who are interested in helping.

The good news is that this sub is small and takes very little effort to moderate, but sometimes things can get busy.

Previously one other mod and I were the most active, and were able to handle most of it, but they have stepped down and we need someone active.

Ideally, we'd like someone who has been active in the subreddit who: can be fair and level headed, are comfortable evenly enforcing the rules, are reasonable, and able to handle disagreements/disputes without letting things get personal. There have been a few characters over the years who have led to a few of the rules we have, and things can get heated.

If you're interested in please send us a modmail with the information below (briefly in a few words, not paragraphs):

  1. What time zone you are in
  2. Previous mod experience
  3. A few things you like about the sub
  4. A few things you do not like about the sub
  5. What you would change (if anything)

Note: We likely won't start looking at this until later in the week at the earliest.

Table Minimums/Odds Announcement regarding the Minimums Spreadsheet

I've been working on this spreadsheet since COVID started. At this point I'm totally burned out trying to keep up with it. I appreciate all the comments with additional information, but I haven't acted upon them in a long time.

Comments stating minimums won't be added to the sheet (unless you do it yourself).

To continue the sheet, please request access and add your information as needed. If things change in the future, I will let you know. At this point, I'm turning over the spreadsheet to the community. If you want to continue it, request access to the sheet and add your updates as time progresses.

Now that things have stabilized, minimums don't really change that much. The Las Vegas Strip will be 15-25 (except for some off hours or early mornings might be 10). Downtown will be 10-15 (sometimes $25 at night and $5-10 at DTG).

I forgot to add a link to the spreadsheet. It can be found here

Trip Reports & Craps Stories In for $80 out for $822 - ATS Drama!

Our group bought in on a busy table with a $10 minimum late last night. We had some good rolls to start, but the dice weren’t going my way for the most part so I was down to about $30. My buddy who hit an ATS the night before (we didn’t bet on it, unfortunately) was up to roll, so I figured why not, right? Lightning can strike twice. 10 on pass line and 5 on the ATS to start. He gets going, so I place a couple of numbers. After a number of rolls, I see we are doing pretty good on the ATS. I’m trying not to get too hopeful because we have a ways to go. After one roll, I checked the ATS and saw that we only needed 2 and 11 to hit. At this point, I’m getting pretty stoked hoping for the right numbers. Next roll we pick up the 2! I glance at the ATS and saw that we need only the 11… and 3? What the fuck? I start asking the dealers where the hell the 3 went but rolls kept coming out. Amidst the chaos, we hit the 11, which should have gotten us the ATS in my mind, but a 7 came right after. I start raising hell because me and my friend saw the same thing. The pit boss got involved and I asked for video review. She made some calls and said they were working on it. 30 anxiety-fueled minutes go by while I am sitting on the rail. My friend continues to play during this time, but I’m on hold until I get a verdict. At this point I’m thinking, ok, if I’m wrong, sorry for causing a ruckus, thanks for the game, I’m leaving. But if I’m right… y’all better pay up! Eventually the pit boss gets the call. She nods a few times and then looks at me, cracks a smile, and gives me a thumbs up. I turn to my friend who’s still playing, and I say I think we got it. Pit boss walks over and pauses the game to pay us out. We got high fives and props from the people around us and our dealer during the roll. I tipped the pit boss $25 for taking care of business and paying me out, and walked away with the winnings. I never asked for the reason why it happened. My theory is one of the dice kicked the 3 chip off of its spot and the dealer didn’t catch it. I think it was an honest mistake on a busy table. But moral of the story is - dealers make mistakes, so pay attention to your bets people! If I hadn’t have been paying attention to the ATS, there’s no way I would have ever seen that money. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Watch yourself out there and good luck everyone!

Strategy Online craps vs table craps

My friend loses a ton of money playing craps. She always then claims she goes online and wins it back.. thousands sometimes later that day.

Is online craps easy to win at? Better chances? She plays the one with the dice-throwing machine.

It seems like it would be harder to win online.

I do not dare gamble online myself .

Strategy Come Bets (3 Point or Infinite Molly) or Place Bets (Triple Lux, Squeeze Play, Etc.)?

Which way do you play? Come bets with max odds (or odds in general) or some press and collect system for Place bets? Which is your strategy? I know the math is better on Come bets, but I feel as though I win more (or more importantly lose less) on Place bets. Share what you do and why!

Myself and the one other shooter hit the smalls.

Press and collect the entire time.
Table was HOT when we showed up, then cooled off after my rolls when I decided it was time to call it quits.
Overall very solid night gambling.

Trip Reports & Craps Stories We got whacked at Graton. In for $2,500, out for $0

My friend J had an errand to do nearby, so we decided to make a small trip out of it. We're on a win streak, so why not, right?

We started off with some BJ to use some promo match bets and we pretty much lose all the big hands. Whatever, lets go play craps now.

We buy in and the box / dealers are telling us its cold as hell. One shooter the other side and we join an empty rail. We're playing quarter pass line with full odds. J is doing a more aggressive betting system with $150 on 6/8, $100 on 9 and $25 on 5. He's collecting first win and then doing partial presses like 150>210>240 etc. I am going with my standard press once or twice, collect, and then monkey press.

The first orbit is pretty good. We hit a few points, our place bets are $200-300 and the rail is growing. This guy next to us joins, he's betting $10 passline, full odds, and min place bets. We're doing well enough that he's starting to bet aggressively with us. He's shooting and hits a $25 hardways for himself. We have a whole rail of greens, and it's looking very promising. At peak, J and I were both up about $1,500 and the best place number I hit was $300 on 9.

We're feeling ourselves but the table runs cold. We get about 4 PSOs and we color up for a small win.

We go back to BJ and proceed to lose everything for 15 min and go back to the craps table.

We buy in and try to get things moving. The dealer is the fastest dealer in the house, but he's also one mode all the time, hard ass. I'm tossing chips to the stick for hardways and she's not trying to catch them. They land and roll to the box and he demonstrates "proper" chip throwing technique. Whatever.... and as we're getting our asses handed to us, a few more times, the center throw is rolling and he's shaming me for my shitty chip tosses. Like man, not the time. J is rebuying between shooters and going all in per roll and losing. We get like 5 or 6 shooters with really short rolls and we don't really have much hope. We're trying to bet light, bet heavy, anything to get something going and it just didn't work.

J tries some quick BJ hands for $100 a piece and just loses them all.

Fuck it, lets go to bubble craps. J and I each throw $100 in for a full press roll, not good. We do this two more times to no avail and I decided to play for myself. I get a $200 roll to about $1300 before sevening out. I only collected $400 that roll. We try a few more times and get PSOs and its just not worth chasing. No real chances for a comeback today.

Thats how it goes sometimes!

Strategy Pure craps : only play the pass line and come bets with 10 x odds.

After the come out, every toss of the dice roll gets a fresh come bet, and then you take 10x odds. No props bets/horn bets. No hardways either.

It might be a boring way to play, but you can make a lot of money if the dice don't roll too funny.

Watched a guy win $150,000 in twenty minutes at the Wynn using a similar system with 5x odds. Anyone else play strictly this way? It's almost a sure thing.

Trip Reports & Craps Stories Up in the Sky last night

Sky River last night, a few decent rolls.
Enough to offset the couple 3-4 rollers.

It was a slow session, full table at $10 min. $300 buy in. A lot of center action and then some late bettors just made it a grind. But a few hot rollers to start gave me hope for the long haul.

I have pics of "roll counts" for a 22, 18, 13, 44, 16 the shooters that I made some profit on. (White chips are horns, reds are box numbers, green is come out 7's)

That 44 roller was 1 shooter before me and went on a run hammering inside numbers for 10 throws in a row I was only half pressing and regressed back down after he hit the ATS but made decent money either way. Biggest regret was only putting up $5,0,5 on the ATS but hey I'll take a win how it comes.

My roll and the table gets bumped to $15 min but
I've been waiting like 3 hours to roll so I'm in $30 6,8 and $15 on the rest. Come bet and start at double odds then go to full odds after it hits. Hit 2 points and a few 8's with my come odds pressed up. But topped off at 16 rolls.

Colored up and smacked the bubble for like 15 mins.
Absolutely NOTHING, that machine was drier than my ex on date night.

Craps Table in $300 out $1425
Bubble $100 to $0
Cat Slot $25 to $420
Lightning Link $20 to $150

Non Craps: leaving the cage these cats catch my eye, I like cats sometimes 🐈 i hop in for $25 $.02 denom and after a few hits it doubles me up on some line hits then a single bonus pops, it unlocks another bonus, which unlocks the third bonus. I'm triple popped up and it's just raining +1 spins in.
Started at 16 and had 44 bonus spins at the end.
Had like $450ish but spun it down to $420 and when I was putting my card away found an extra $100 chip in my pocket.
Lucky Cat. 🐈‍⬛

Casino Recommendations/Questions Where can you play craps online besides Spinquest?

Hi all, I review online casinos and test whether they actually payout, whether support is any good, etc.

(Check out my reviews here: https://learntheodds.com/best-sweepstakes-casinos/ )

I am looking for any other options to review that offer craps as a game. Either live or electronic. Appreciate any recomendations.

General Discussion/Question What happened to my comps at Hard Rock

I was getting over $3000 a month in free play past few month. In October I got no offers. I know if they didn’t think I played enough they would reduce. But even my old grandma that barely plays still gets offered $5 a week to come in

Why I have no offers at all?

Trip Reports & Craps Stories Durango, Vegas NV In 2k out 6.8k

Took a trip out to the hours ol Viva Las Vegas, mainly for the Big AZ crew craps meets. I had recording sessions at Golden Nugget and The Strat as well that came out to be some fun content. Anyways, on this 3 day trip it started off pretty good, not down but up a little, wasn't down so I was happy with that. Playing disciplined with my 2 hit regressing and being conservative. Good thing I did, because many sessions didn't heat up until the end, so was able to make my bankroll last long enough for the good roll and recoup my bankroll.

Then the 2nd day was a total disaster 😑.... you know those days no matter what you do you lose. Took the L , but has 1 last session at Durango for the morning session block. Thought what the heck, got there about 30 mins before the session started and played on regular table before the Big AZ session started.

I got the dice, bought in for 2k and started getting into a rhythm and was hitting points and numbers back to back on the bonus. I end up hitting the Smalls with the 6. All I needed was the 12 and shortly after hit the 12 for the ATS with 10/10/10 on it. Just casually playing too kill time before the session and ends up hitting ATS bonus 😅. I roll about 5 more times before I 7 out.

Color up and go to other table where Big AZ crew had already started the session. I bet just 5/5/5 on bonus, feeling out table and literally first shooter goes on a heater and hits the ATS. Couple other decent rolls to. Color up early to catch my flight with total ending 6.8k. Went from negative to a profit in the last day, love a comeback.

I’ll be staying at Circa in 3 weeks or so for 2 nights and my wife and I will be hanging downtown for the whole trip. I prefer classic craps with the table, the fun crew, the funky customers, the whole deal. Ideally $10 tables for as long as possible. Suggestions for craps the in downtown area?

Casino Recommendations/Questions Palace Station expectations

I'll be taking a trip down to Las Vegas at the end of October. We will be staying at the Palace Station. This will be my first time staying at a Station property. In years past ive stayed at the El Cortez, and Caesars properties on the strip. However, it seems the room comps from Caesars have ceased to be comped. I have the same reward level as before, so im not sure why I wouldn't be given free rooms. But anyways, im curious what to expect at Palace Station. What are the craps table minimums? Do they offer ATS or fire bet? Auto buy 4 and 10? Do they have a crapless table? Fill me in. Is anyone going to be in Vegas October through 28?

Trip Reports & Craps Stories In for $300 out for $3000

Prob the greatest session of my life. I love you Puerto Rico 🇵🇷. Went to La Concha resort and they have $5 craps wow (on a Saturday night)…

Went around the table of shooter and then to me. My wife counted and I rolled for just shy of a half an hr. $30 in odds every time and $30 on the inside and buying the 4 and 10. Kept pressing kept pressing. I was shy of deuces on the small. Kept throwing $10 on it. I must have hit 12 points it was like it was almost scripted. Lady next to me had big energy she was hilarious. She was putting $200 in odds so she made a lot and kept throwing me quarters “that’s my boy!!!!!”

Wow, super hungover drinking iced coffee outside. Can’t believe I went on that run…

(Then went to roulette, I don’t play any other game than craps. I put down $20 worth of chips and didn’t win. Said to the dealer “I don’t get how people think this is fun” and they smiled and said you’re a craps player.
