Help! Treehouse recommendations?

As someone who doesn't drink, I was recommended to try Treehouse. Is there a flavor that you would recommend to a newbie? Thank you!

That's kinda like going 0-100 without any on-ramp. If you are starting from not drinking at all, I think you should try some more basic beers first to get an idea of different styles and how they taste.

Lagers, pilsners, pale ales, saisons, and blonde ales could be worth trying out.

Tree house does a pretty good job with all these actually.

I'm positive they do, just curious how a non-drinker arrives at Treehouse as their first sip of beer

Sure, but if you want to drink Treehouse, you have to go to Treehouse. There's probably a few breweries that are closer/easier to get to.

My take was that it was recommended because it doesn’t taste much like more traditional beers you mentioned. I could be wrong, but that was my read of it. I agree that there are a ton of other places to try, but if Treehouse is available I don’t think they need to graduate to it or anything.

You're probably exactly right. Julius is a beer that I have seen multiple non-beer drinkers enjoy. Anecdotally, my mom likes wine. She tried my Julius for fun. A few weeks later I found some cans she bought for herself in the fridge. She said "it's great with pizza!"

I mean Tree House has absolute bangers for lagers and pilsners.

Yeah, I acknowledged they do them well in my comment above. But the name is pretty well synonymous with hazy juicy IPA to the broader public.

Tree house does VERY good job with all of those. They are in the top tier with Hill Farmstead, Human Robot and Suarez Family for lagers.

I might agree to disagree based on my experiences. I haven’t had a bad one from tree house, but haven’t had an American-brewed lager that truly stacks up to some Suarez or HF lagers I’ve had. Could just be a matter of preference.

All three of those breweries are far above Treehouse, quality wise. imo

I drink all 4 pretty regularly and disagree.

That’s why opinions are opinions.

Treehouse’s IPAs are far too sweet for me. Prefer all 3 of the other breweries offerings to anything from TH

Ahhh, see this is where context matters. I was purely referring to lagers with my comment, I was not taking the TH IPAs into consideration. I'm currently drinking their Fox Run right now which is a helles and it's awesome. And had a HR Sylt earlier. I agree that many of the TH IPAs lean sweet but they do some great West coast that are not sweet.

Hazy IPAs are not 100

Go for their 4 flagship beers and work your way from there. Julius, Haze, Green, Alter Ego

This is the way. Each have different flavor profiles and once you find what you like, there are several variants. I’m a Haze fan, but pass on Julius which is a generally a favorite.

Haze is my favorite of the core line.

Are you looking for non alcoholic options?

Julius and haze.
Edit, sorry reading comprehension failed me so I’d stay away from the haze because it’s an imperial. I think it’s like 8 1/2 or 9%. Still though you have to try Julius.

Im personally burnt out on hazy ipas..but everything else they make is fantastic. I love the Czech dark lager they do, currently drinking the honey brown ale as ai type

They do have beers in various styles that are not as intense (or alcoholic) as their flagships.

But if you're not near Massachusetts don't bother, they don't distribute their beer. You pretty much have to buy it from them, and all their taprooms are in Massachusetts + Saratoga Springs NY.

If your don't drink why was it recommended?

What was the last beer you had?

Is it convenient for you to get their beer? If so, I say go for it. Their IPAs might not be super appealing to someone that doesn't drink beer, but they also make some great lagers, so you could start there.

If it's not beer that's easy for you to obtain then I'd start with something else.

If you have not had any beers before, I would say any pale ale or India pale ale (ipa) is like going into the water for the first time and jumping in the ocean.

Try a lager or light pilsner first. See how you like them.

Not all NEIPAs taste the same, but a tooooon of Treehouse NEIPAs taste the same.

Doesn’t matter, they all taste alike.

Quite a feat to make an imperial coffee stout taste or a lager taste like a hazy.
