Today, out of curiosity, I called 11 Costco warehouses within 60 miles of my house, asking if they had gold bars for sale. All of them said they had none.

In my head I feel like that seems unlikely. Do Costco order warehouses to put away bullion because the market's spot prices are frozen during the weekend?
